The host/hostess pays for the ingredients for the representative to use, but then you get that money back in free product when you order. I've had two Pampered Chef parties now, and I love their stuff!

The hostess whom is throwing the party buys the ingredients for the recipe. IF it is a cooking show. Not all shows have the consultant cooking. If the consultant and hostess decide on that they agree to a recipe and the hostess is given a copy or list of ingredients and they buy/pay for them. The consultant is not responsible for buying the items. The consultant is responsible for any door prizes or prizes for games if they do those.

Whoever is throwing the party should buy and prepare the food, after all you will expect your guest to buy the product being sold.
