I am renting out a hall and want to have a place for my guests to relax.. I cant bring a sofa from home.. any ideas?

you can get pillows from the dollar store or a crafts store and put them in the corner. try dimming the lights and using candles and decorating with darker colors. you may want to play softer music.

Without knowing your budget, it is very difficult to give you any definitive answers.You can't obviously throw pillows on the floor in a hall. They are just very sterile environments. The best I can tell you is to have plenty of candles ( all in some sort of glass container ) on the tables. This will draw attention from the blandness of the room. Have the lights turned down as low as safely possible. Some fabric, draped artfully around the base of the candle containers, will soften the look of the table. Back to the candles...have them at several heights, from the small votives to much larger candles, remembering to contain them in glass containers.

Candles and music will set the mood. Table linens with deep jeweled colors.
