I'm hosting a small holiday cookie baking party. It'll be in the morning and there will be no children attending. What do I need to prepare in advance? What supplies should I have on hand?

Help! I have a staff Christmas party for work next week and need to bring 2 items to share that are not sweet foods. I am not Rachel Ray or Martha Stewart so any help would be appreciated. I am thinking along the lines of appetizers...hot or cold...it doesn't matter. I wanted to bring my turtle brownies but someone has claimed the sweets and I have to come up with something else that is fairly easy! Thanks for your help!

I gave up alcohol 6 months back. Now when I am offered alcohol at my friends place, I say no. Now when my friends come my place, is it proper to offer them alcohol or would they be offended by it? What is the proper etiquette? I guess same question can be extended to vegetarians who gave up non-vegetarian, is it proper to serve non-vegetarian to friends at your home even though you don't eat it?

thanks,
Treddy

Is it me of do these things suck? You can't let loose as you would at a club of with the protection and anonymity they provide. Office parties are for losers...agree?

Here in Triniad it is a tradition to have tins of Danish cookies every year for Christmas. I was just wondering if this is the same anywhere else and why it is this way

I'm having a wedding in a couple of months and already had a tasting with my caterer for my wedding menu. We customized our menu entrees by asking for two entrees we've seen in other places, but we did not provide them with recipes.

We picked out most of our hors d'oeuvres, salads, etc but the taste of the entrees was a little off. We asked about the ingredients and mentioned that the entrees were good but had a little bitterness that is not normal for the dishes. I think they added some unnecessary ingredients and omitted some ingredients that would have made it better.

Is it ok to email them some suggestions/recipes and ask them for another tasting for just the entrees?
