Help! I have a staff Christmas party for work next week and need to bring 2 items to share that are not sweet foods. I am not Rachel Ray or Martha Stewart so any help would be appreciated. I am thinking along the lines of appetizers...hot or cold...it doesn't matter. I wanted to bring my turtle brownies but someone has claimed the sweets and I have to come up with something else that is fairly easy! Thanks for your help!

This is a really tasty and super easy spinach dip recipe.

1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayo
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
1 packet Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix (just the basic one)

Take all the above ingredients and mix together well. This dip tastes good right away but it tastes better after sitting in the refridgerator for a couple of hours. You can even make it the day before.

Now, you can serve it with just some basic triscuit crackers or if you feel gutsy buy a round sourdough bread and slice a piece off the top and then hollow it out leaving about an inch of bread all the way around and fill it up with the spinach dip, top with the piece you cut off the top.

Ultimate Stuffed Mushrooms

20 medium mushrooms
3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
2 Tbsp. finely chopped red peppers
14 RITZ Crackers, finely crushed (about 1/2 cup crumbs)
2 Tbsp. KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Remove stems from mushrooms. Finely chop enough of the stems to measure 1/4 cup; set aside. Cover and refrigerate remaining stems for other use.
MELT butter in large skillet on medium heat. Add 1/4 cup chopped mushroom stems, the onions and peppers; cook and stir until vegetables are tender. Stir in cracker crumbs, cheese and Italian seasoning. Spoon crumb mixture evenly into mushroom caps. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
BAKE 15 min. or until heated through.

Make Ahead
Mushrooms can be stuffed several hours in advance. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Uncover and bake at 400°F for 20 min. or until heated through.

Sausage and Cheese Balls

3 cups all-purpose baking mix
4 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen turkey sausage, thawed
1/2 cup milk

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Mix all ingredients in large bowl until well blended. Form mixture into 1-inch balls.
PLACE on lightly greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
BAKE 23 to 25 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Serve warm.

There are some easy recipes on here : http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk such as:

Garlic Mushroom Nibbles

Ingredients

6 mushrooms
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
vegan puff pastry

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Chop up the puff pastry into squares which are the size you wish your nibbles to be. Pile several squares on top of each other so that it is about 2 cm tall and press them together at the edges. Bake in the oven until risen and golden brown. Once cooked put on a cooling tray for 10 minutes.

Cut the mushrooms into small pieces and crush the garlic. Fry in 2 tablespoons of oil until the mushrooms are golden brown. Once the pastry has cooled press in the middle to form a hole to put the filling in. Spoon on some of the mushroom mixture and sprinkle with the parsely.

i used these at a baby shower party a few months ago - people loved them...and they are pretty easy....not to mention REALLY good!!!!

Cucumber Sandwiches

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh dillweed
20 sandwich bread slices
20 thin wheat bread slices

Process cream cheese and mayonnaise in a blender or food processor until smooth, stopping once to scrape down sides.
Combine cream cheese mixture, cucumber, garlic salt, and dillweed.

Spread cucumber mixture evenly onto white bread slices, and top with wheat bread. Using a 2- to 3-inch round cutter, cut sandwiches, discarding edges. Or cut crusts from bread, discarding crusts, and cut sandwiches into quarters. Store cucumber sandwiches in an airtight container for up to 1 hour before serving.

Yield: 20 rounds or 80 quarters

Okay, here's one that my coworker just brought to a party last night...It was FABULOUS!

Sautee minced red onions and minced garlic in olive oil until they are nicely carmelized (your personal taste may apply here)
Remove them from the pan & set aside.
In the same pan, brown chopped bacon.
Mix the bacon into the onion/garlic mixture.
Soon the mixture onto a tortilla.
Sprinkle on crumbled smoked blue cheese.
Place another tortilla on top of the assembly, making a "tortilla sandwich".
Put this into the oven on a baking sheet, just long enough for the cheese to get soft, and for the whole thing to get warm.
Cut it into wedges & serve.

These roll-ups are great:

Spread tortillas with flavored onion-chive soft cream cheese. Layer thin slices of hard salami on top, roll up carefully, and chill for a couple hours. Slice in 1" pieces, arrange cut side up on a plate--ta-DA!! Lovely & yummy!

For a hot one, take chicken drumettes, cover with a half water & half soysauce & bake til tender--or do in a crockpot, they work well that way.
Or the famous weenies----throw little smokies in a crock pot, dump in a 10 oz jar of cocktail sauce & a cup of grape jelly---another one everyone LOVES!! (it sounds odd, but it's really good!!
