I need ideas for what to serve with vegetable beef stew. I have done corn bread in the past, looking for something different.

check this out my friend. I happen to be a great fan of beef stew. You take bisquick and make biscuits in the oven. And or you take bisquick and you make dumplings. You using a crock pot? [I hope] set the dumplings on top of the stew for the last 40 min's of your overall cooking time. Oh yeah.

A nice light salad is a great accompaniment with a stew, but the best thing would be nice fresh warm bread that has a good crust and a soft middle for soaking up the juices from the stew. Make sure to have good softened butter (not margarine or anything fake) and even some preserves for the bread too...

Carrots, celery, onion, potato, tomatoes, and maybe some zucchini would be very tasty. If I were making it, for that much meat I'd do: 1 medium onion 2 medium carrots or 1 really big one 1 rib of celery 1 large potato (I don't like that much potato in the stew) 2 medium tomatoes 1 small or 1/2 a larger zucchini Rice is ok, but in beef stew barley is much tastier! Try it, it's so good! Another tasty thing to add is orzo, it's a small pasta about the size of grains of rice. You don't need to add so much of these things, maybe just 1/2-1 cup of the raw ingredient. One more thing, when I make beef stew I sometimes add a glass of red wine while it's cooking. That always turns out well. It's making me hungry thinking of beef stew... :) Good luck!

Garlic-cheese sourdough bread. And Ketchup! Vegetable beef stew just cries out for ketchup.

Or you can make dumplings from the recipie on the Bisquick box.

Fresh bread- go to a bakery and get multi-grain and a loaf of french bread. You could also see what other types of holiday bread that they have such as things with cranberries baked in.
Be sure to have some softened butter.
