Can I put that in the oven now after I have checkerboarded with cloves, (something I learned at the market) I have no time to cook or watch it or whatever it is that is needed to be ready for potluck tomorrow at 6 in somethingcalled a chaffing dish!!!

Is your ham cooked? You should probably be brining it about now (throw it in a bucket of water with some sugar and salt (enough to make the water taste like sugar and salt).

So you have a raw ham studded with cloves? Rub it with some oil (anything but motor) and bake it. 350 till pretty (or 165f, to be correct).

The chaffing dish is only a hot-hold item consisting of two hotel pans (6 inch, for a whole ham), on a stand, with sterno underneath. One pan fits into the other with water in the bottom pan and fire (sterno) under that. Good Luck!
