I kind of thought that chocolate fondue was junk food...
Anyway, in addition to the fruit, you can also serve cubes of pound cake for dipping in the fondue.
One thing that might help you is finding out what dietary restrictions the guests will have. That might at least narrow down some of your options.
Anyway, without dietary restrictions, here some suggestions:
Hot chocolate (with a candy cane for stirring)
Popcorn (you could even make popcorn balls or such in advance)
rice crispy squares
grilled cheese sandwiches (cut them in triangle quarters, and they'll be like a snack)
homemade cheese scones, biscuits or bread-sticks
vegetables and dip - use small cookie cutters to cut them into fancy and festive shapes
you could buy some croissant or crescent dough, and put your own filling inside and bake (Ham and cheese, spinach and feta, chocolate, marzipan and almonds)
I think I'm hungry for cheese and chocolate right now, sorry about that.

What about smore's? They have little smore kits complete with hibachi 'stoves' you can find in most stores, like a Walmart, they aren't very expensive and the girls would have fun with that. We use to give out candy necklaces and lollipop rings. The girls would wear them all night. Old fashion shoe string licorice and pez with the dispensors were always fun too. Make popcorn and serve in the big plastic colorful holiday bowls you get at the dollar store for, what else, $.1.00! Rootbeer floats are a must. I'd wrap the girls up and go Christmas caroling to the local neighbors, hand out candy canes and all come on back for some nice hot chocolate with marshmellows. Drop a candy cane in there too if you like or serve warm apple cider. We'd pull out all the sleeping bags in front of the tv and line up the holiday video's and see who could stay up the longest, the kids or the adults! For breakfast, we did pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. That's enough of a sugar infusion to make any dentist happy! You could give out new tooth brushes as parting gifts! ;)

South of the Border Chex Mix
6 T. butter or margarine
1 package dry taco mix
1 T. worcestershire sauce
1 t. hot pepper sauce (Tobasco, etc.)
1 Cup peanuts* - see my note at bottom
8 Cups Chex cereal, or other rice, wheat or corn square cereal (or combination of the flavors)
1 Cup mini pretzels/pretzel sticks
1 Cup cheese nips or other bite size cheese crackers
2 T. American cheese food powder (optional)
In a preheated, 250F oven, melt margarine in open roasting pan. Stir in taco seasoning, worcestershire sauce and pepper sauce. Gradually add cereals, peanuts, pretzels and cheese crackers; stir to coat evenly. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. If desired, sprinkle American cheese food powder over warm mix. Store in airtight container.
Makes 11 cups
*Make sure no one is allergic to peanuts before you add these. It is a very common allergy and the peanuts cannot just be 'picked out' of the mix. Their oils will have gotten on all of the other items and you could still end up sitting in the emergency department of your local hospital. If you must leave them out, just add more crackers or cereal or substitute something else such as dried cranberries. (actually quite tasty, but may be a bit 'grown up' for 13 year olds)
I like the pizza bar idea. You could use flour tortillas as the base for the pizza. The tortilla gets crisp when you bake it and it's quite tasty.
You could also do homemade ice cream sandwiches. Just bake your favorite 'flat' cookies, put some softened ice cream on one, top with another and then roll the edges in sprinkles or chopped nuts (barring allergies, of course). Wrap them individually. You can use a variety of cookies, ice cream flavors and decorations/garnish.

Have them make little pizzas. Use the biscuit dough in the canister. have the ingredients all laid out (cheese, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, a can or jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, etc... they can stretch out the "dough" and make up their own special pizzas to snack on while watching a favorite video or just talking about '13 year old" special stuff :)
clean up is not really bad.. especially if you have them help while the "pizzas" are cooking

you could have a popcorn bar.
-kettle corn
-movie popcorn
-caramel corn
here is the recipe for my personal favorite (trust me on this one, you won't regret it.)
pop popcorn and pour into a brown paper bag.
melt butter.
into butter, add garlic powder and chili powder (lots of it, it won't be spicy.)
pour butter into bag, close bag and shake vigorously
pour popcorn into a bowl, and shake on nutritional yeast (available in any health food store, the larke flake kind is better. it has an excellent buttery taste to it).
make lots, and season heavily.
