Hi folks. I'm 22 years old and I can't stand the taste of alcohol. I meet a lot of people at the college I go to, and they want to go out for drinks. However, like I said, I cannot stand the stuff. Do you think its possible to have fun while sober and the people you are hanging out with are drunk? Do you think it would lead to me being uncomfortable?

Also, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for alcoholic drinks for someone who isn't used to it. Thanks ahead of time.

Less than 1/2" thick, melted chocolate chips. It would be chocolate-dipped spoons. How long would it take for the chocolate to harden? How does this compare with white chocolate chips?

I made no-bake cookies tonight and it called for a pinch of salt...what is it about salt that only a slight pinch is needed to somehow complete the recipe of just about any food even if its dessert?

When you caramelize sugar, you just heat sugar on the stove. But do you add anything else (water, butter, etc.) or do I just wait for the sugar itself to melt over the heat?

I usually finish the strawberry flavor first. Then Vanilla. The chocolate usually ends up getting freezer-burned.

How about you?

I've never made peanut butter cookies although I've been cooking for many years. I stumbled across a recipe that only called for white, brown and confectioners sugar, peanut butter and egg. Once baked you were supposed to put a chocolate kiss in the center. It sounded suspicious to me, I had never baked anything that didn't call for at least flour and/or baking powder or baking soda. I did some checking and it seemed like a popular recipe as far as peanut butter cookies were concerned so I gave it a shot.
I did everything like instructed and the cookies were as big around as saucers and flat as can be. That's NOT what they were supposed to look like. What went wrong here?

I need a good recipe, but it cannot have the following: Beef, Ham or Pork. No Onions,Garlic, or Ginger with the exeption of very small pieces that I can't taste
I want it to be simple and tasty and easy to prepare.
plus if it requires me to go shopping, make sure the ingrediants are easy to find

I am going to France next summer, and I was wondering if I should stop for the month. I don't really want to offend anyone over there. I would go right back to being a vegetarian afterwards, though. Just wondering...
