Don't you know any better ? It tastes like a hot chocolate, not coffee. You poor, poor Americans, having to put up with such lousy coffee, and thinking it is good.

When I lived in the states I subscribed to a food and wine magazine, which had a brilliant recipe for white chocolate banana cream pie. It was in an issue about 10-12 years ago. When I moved back to England, I had mum pack up some of my things, and (gasp) she had thrown out the magazines! This one had a pastry crust as opposed to a crumb crust, and had no dark or milk chocolate or booze in it. If someone knows the recipe, or similar, please let me know

I had always called these things "elephant ears", but someone brought some in to work this morning, and they said they were called "prussians" (sp?). I looked up on wikipedia what elephant ears were, and I'm obviously wrong.

Anyways, I think it's considered a pastry, it's a treat that looks like it starts off as one long strip of dough and it's wrapped up and laid flat resembling kind of a heart shape (only without the point at the bottom). It's only delicately sugared - not iced - and baked to an almost crunchy or crusty consitency. It's very airy and not too sweet. If anyone know what I'm talking about, can you tell me what it's called and maybe send me a link with a pic. Thank you.

How do those little worm like larvae end up in my glass, sealed pasta jar? I have heard that the eggs are already in the wheat. Why does new pasta not usually have them, but old pasta gets the bugs? I have had them in boxes of pasta (Hamburger helper type boxes pasta.) I have seen them in flour also. Anyone know what’s going on with those little bugs? My mother would just scoop them out when they floated to the top of the water when she cooks the pasta. Are the safe to eat? (I’m sure they are, but here in America we tend to shy away from eating bugs.)
