Krups XP4050 Coffee maker?

A was thinking of buying this make/model for a friend. I am not well up on coffee so need some advise. Does anyone have one and if they do are they any good and how does it compare to a Gaggia?

It's a very good coffee maker and yes, I would compare it to Gaggia.
