My husband and I have decided we would like to start drinking wine occasionally. Not like socially or to get drunk. We're thinking maybe once or twice a week with dinner. We know that red wine goes with meat and white with fish and chicken. My question is, what's a good white wine to begin with? We don't want something that stinks of alcohol. We'd prefer something sweet and that has a nice taste to it. Same question for red wine.

I've recently freaked out after reading a web site claiming that it causes cancer. I wasn't sure if they were referring to processed foods- which are loaded with a lot of junk, but can't imagine that they'd mean fresh soy or organic tofu. I thought these foods were the healthiest thing a person could eat. What's going on? I'm a vegetarian and therefore have been eating soy (veggie burgers) for a while. Now I don't know what to do. Does this bother anyone else& how are you handling this news? Thanks!

I haven't had Sloppy Joes in ages, since I was a kid.
Tonight I will be cooking them for my kids. What is a good side dish for Sloppy Joes?
I've been wracking my brains but, nothing really seems to go with them. So, what do you eat with them?

I did it again; drank bourbon and got a raging hangover.
I enjoy social drinking, but I cannot tolerate nasty hangovers. Besides beer, what alcohol spirits do you recommend for avoiding hangovers? (aarrghh.. more aspirin and back to bed...,someone please take this icepick from me head....)

I've recently bought a pasta machine and have been having great fun with it! My friend asked how do I make the pasta, and I told her flour and eggs. Her little girl is allergic to eggs, but she gives her shop-bought pasta(dried/packet).

When I checked the contents it says nothing about eggs, but it uses semolina pasta and water.

Why is there a difference? And can you buy semolina pasta in the shops? I've looked in all the major supermarkets, and can't find it anywhere.

I fried up some chicken tenders using a really good recipe but some flour I have had for AGES and the tenders turned out a lil too crispy. Was wondering if the old flour was the culprit or if hubby just overcooked them.
