We just purchased an LG ceramic top stove/oven and have heard a great deal of conflicting advice on what sort of pots and pans to avoid with electric stoves, partcularly the ceramic top types. The pans we would like to use are a large cast iron Le Creuset pot and one of those long (18x30) rectangular griddle pans from Williams Sonoma, often used for pancakes and other flat surface cooking, that would cover two burners on a normal sized stove. Would it be problematic if I used these pans? Unfortunately, gas is not a viable option so suggesting that I get gas is not helpful. Also, there is not bridge between the elements on this cook top.

there will be a chuch wedding with a private reception in in-law's home to follow. There will be approximately 100 people. What is the fee for a bartender and what does the bartender supply/what are we responsible for aside the choice of alcohol?

Those people at a party that dip a chip, take a bite and then dip it again? Do you say anything? Usually if I can't be first and get a plate of dip, I avoid it. I don't worry so much at home, but did you ever think of the salvia and germs and stuff?

I am curious how many bottles of wine a person can make out of an acre of grapes. I've heard that it takes two bunches of grapes to make one bottle, but I don't know how many grapes you get off of an acre.

Everytime I go out I always drink vodka and redbull/sprite/coca cola, and 99% of the time vodka sends me crazy and I always end up totally wrecked/wasted/drunk out of my skull, which isn't too nice. I want to try something new, something that doesnt block out half the night, lol. Not coctails as they get sickly, me and vodka are drifting apart now, he is getting a bit boring, so any ideas?

Mine is mashed potatoes

*12 or so red potatoes with the skins left on
*Boil until you can easily pierce the potatoe with a fork
*Drain
*Add about 1/2 cube of butter
*4 Tbs. Sour Cream
*4 Tbs. Mayo
*2 Tbs. Parmasan Cheese
*Sprinkle with Garlic Salt or about 2 cloves of pressed garlic
*Enough milk to make it smooth

**Key to the creamiest mashed potatoes is to use a mixer. Enjoy!

See, to me it is VERY important that my family and I live a cruelty-free life. I want us to be kind to other people and animals, take care of the environment, eat healthily, etc. But he is more the type to let them do whatever they want as long as it is not drugs or something like that. So I made a compromise: they will be vegetarian until they can decide for themselves and understand the issues about animals raised for slaughter, etc. What do you think about this whole issue?Do you think that that is a good compromise? Thanks peoples! :)
