Hello,
I am in charge of our schools carnival...does anyone have any food ideas besides the obvious....hot dogs and chips? Some thing that will be cheap to make and a real money maker.

Bad Cook here

Have great "Butternut squash soup", and I want to add fresh chunks of butternut squash to the soup ... what do I do ... can I just chop the butternut stuff into squares and then add to soup, or do I need to cook the butternut squash before?

I also want to add fresh butternut squash to my Lean Cuisine - Grill Alfredo meal ... same thing ... cook before adding or just add and cook???

Do I need to cut this thing any special way?

Why is it when I make a whole steamed artichoke at home, and im ready to eat the heart, I scrape out the choke (the hairy part) and throw it away, but when I eat things that use pre-prepared sliced (and sometimes marinated) artichoke hearts, those hairy things are not removed? Should I be removing them all the time? I've heard the hairy things are bad to eat...

Whenever I make fettuccine, I always end up with some hard noodles because two of them stuck together. I was told that I could prevent this by wetting the noodles first, instead of throwing them into the boiling water dry. It didn't seem to help. Any other suggestions?

I need good natural aliments that can provide a substitute for the proteins. Alternative foods, or even sites where I can get more options. I'm a bit tired of the old tofu option.
