Because the food standards people think that vegetarians want products to taste like meat. So they allow crap like this to get through so that people can still have meat-like substitutes.

I agree, some of the vegetarian premade food is shocking. You'd expect that if the food is under the Macartney name it would be quality.

Some of the Quorn food is tasteless. However, I recently tried their sausage rolls and they were brilliant!

these pies are just cheap s**t 1.50 for 4. I'm a chef and still havn't cooked one that wasnt soggy. throw them in the bin and have falafal instead.

these pies were introduced years ago when the competition for pre packed veggie food was minimal. there are much better alternatives now (soggy beer mats).

its clear you simply didnt cook the pies for long enough! had you done so, no way are they soggy. the filling is hot, mildly peppered, with a rich, nutritious, filling gravy too.the crust swells up and has a tendency to accidentally burn if youre not careful. try the gorgeous pies again and cook them properly or youll end up poisoning yourself. there are stacks of good foods done by McCartney, so hey! try again!

Most frozen entrees don't taste that good..it does not matter if they are vegetarian or not.

Quorn breaded cutlets are the exception to this rule. They are outstanding for frozen food.

I have had no luck finding tasty food that involved soy meat. I would say it's something you have to develop a taste for over time.

I don't think you cooked it for long enough.

I survived university by eating soggy beer mats and they didn't do me any harm.

Try LMs lasagne with a bit of tabasco sprinkled over the top, its lovely. Her pies are a bit dodgy I agree.
