why on earth does tesco charge £3.60 for a tray of raspberries when you can grow them in the garden for free? I really like raspberries, does anyone know how to grow them? if not I'll ask my nan cos she's got loads of raspberry plants.

Do yourealize you give to the poor when you tip, so raise it up. They only make 2.15 per hour and have to claim 10 percent on taxes.
Some of them are single moms with kids who need to eat, some are poor college students struggling and some poor helping their family out.

Is there anywhere I can buy sushi and sashimi-grade fish in Edinburgh?

I'm not talking about restaurants, but rather, Japanese supermarkets or food stands... where I can buy stuff and take them home to prepare and eat?

Preferred price range: sushi for under £2 and sashimi-grade fish meat for under £7. (And, come on folks, I've already upped the prices... in Japan - which is pretty expensive too - I can get this stuff for 2/3 of these prices. Anything more than that would just be exorbitant. And, as I said, I am NOT talking about restaurants.)

It's fine if I can save money by purchasing ingredients separately. Just tell me where I can buy stuff like Japanese seaweed, Japanese condiments, imitation seafood, top-grade salmon (good enough for sashimi), wasabi, etc. etc.

If the prepared foods are too expensive, I can just go ahead and make them by myself... BUT I do need the *ingredients*!!

Thanks in advance! ^_^

Why do we tip waiters but not plumbers?
Pizza delivery guys but not mail men?
Barbers but not auto mechanics?

You can't say it's because waiters don't make much. There are lots of people that don't make much, besides employers are required to make up the difference between what they make and minimum wage...so they make AT LEAST minimum wage.

why has 10% moved to 15% and now 20%

Why do most people tip even if the service was below average?

You shouldn't have to tip out of fear (otherwise shouldn't we tip our doctors so that he diagnoses us correctly)?

Why is it called a "gratuity" but waiters expect it or restaurants include it?

And finally, if you think the system sucks, but you tip anyway...why do you do so?

Does anyone else think the practice is completly out of hand???
