according to latest scientific research egg came first . the reason behind this is that evolutionary changes take place in embryonic stage i.e.egg.hence even though the egg has been laid by some other creature mutations took place and chicken hatched out of the egg. Thus egg came first

I would have to say neither. It would have had to be the rooster (I am trying to refrain from saying the cock) who would have had to 'come' first in the hen/chicken. That would then have led to the production of the egg.
