In this relationship that is going great! Recently my BF got his divorce court date and things have been very stressful for him. I have done all that I think I can do to support him and let him know that because of our love - even if it's just that he needs me to listen - I will & have. Lately he seems distant and less comunicative & I sort of understand why (maybe he feels as though he's "dumping" on me) - In any case, it appears as if he is keeping his distance from me and he's starting to drink a bit and fall into a greater depression, just as all his S*#t is about to hit the fan - is there anything I can do to get him to open up or should I just back way off till after the fire is put out?

After being widowed almost two years ago, I have been dating and have enjoyed being intimate with a couple of well chosen friends but I'm starting to feel like crawling back into the shell I occupied while mourning.

I have no desire to fall in love, let alone have any kind of committed relationship.

For some reason I feel I should return to spending my time alone and am considering taking a serious vow of celebacy for a specified period in order to rethink things.

Have you ever been intentionally celebate? What were your reasons and could you tell me what, if anything you learned or gained?

Understand I am talking about people who have been sexual and then withdrawn from it for a time, not those who have vowed to remain virgins til marriage.

Any thoughts welcome.

I am wanting to propose to my girlfriend. We have been dating for 1 year and I feel totally in love with her and want to make her mine for all time.
I don't want to do anything traditional. Getting down on one knee just isn't for me. I want something unique and exciting. Something that is really going to wow her so to speak.

ME AND THIS GUY HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS AND WE STARTED TALKING BUT IT REALLY DIDN'T WORK OUT DUE HIM GRADUATING AND LEAVIN 4 COLLEGE. AROUND XMAS WE DIDN'T TALK BUT IN THE BEGINING OF THE NEW YEAR WE STARTED TALKING AGAIN, BUT AT TIME SOMEONE ELSE HAD CAUGHT MY EYE.( BY THE WAY WE WERE ALL IN THE SAME CLASS THAT SEMESTER.) DURING THE LAST COUPLE OF DAY WE EXCHANGED WORDS BUT NOTHING SERIOUS. THE LAST DAY OF CLASS HE SAW ME FLIRTING WITH ANOTHER GUY AND HAD TO HAVE THE ATTENTION. I can forgive my wife for having written a love letter to her classmate after 13 years of our marriage. But I am broke now and she is semi-broke as my assets are sold for various purposes and her are withheld by her parents who hate me from day 1 of our marriage. Anyway, I hate their influence on her which drives me crazy and we had fights about it many a time and I don't give a damn about her property or her parents. Their reaction to her affair was to ask her get out of her sister's house where we are staying now, she for immigration and me in job search. Should I ask her to cut off this relation with her parents which strained our relation so much that I abused her sometimes when I got drunk and drove her to seek emotional support elsewhere?Though I forgive her and forget her love affair, should I make clear to her that I don't want her to continue her relation with her parents either which strained our marriage much? Maybe,I feel the ball is in my court now and I truly love her.

my boyfriend has always said " i love YOU" and for the past couple of months he started saying "i love YA" every now and then i'd get an "i love YOU" but before we hang up the phone to go to sleep he says "i love ya" instead.. is there really a difference in that? i mean, at first i didn't mind it, but now i'm beginning to think that the two meanings ARE different..

32 month relationship, i'm 20 and he's 21.

I have two Valentines Day ideas. One involves the girl and I in a private setting where I blindfold and lead her into the theater when it is empty. Hanging from the ceiling would be a sign saying 'Will you be my valentine?'. I will then ask her to slow dance on the stage with the spotlight shining on us. The other is more public in that more people can see us. There's a garden right outside the cafeteria. I would hang the sign right on top of the entrance so that if she goes into the garden and looks back towards the building she will see the sign. Then I will ask her to dance out in the garden.
Which of the two is better? And if these aren't good, what would you suggest?

other for about 8 months. but we still remained in contact with each other and have/had feelings for each other. we would hang out sometimes and he was the person i went to for help with things. although he still acted cold towards me for reasons and seemed like at times he wanted me not around and times he did. which i was confused, angry and hurt. just recently we had a talk and he asked some questions about things that i 've done i told him yes, i met someone and we had relations. he was upset and asked me more questions about it. now ladies when i went to his apt. i saw evidence of him sleeping with some. so now i ask him questions he made up many exuces and did tell me or confess to what he did even after i told him what i did. ok, he tells me 5 days later that yes he did something. the day i had to go home several towns away to vist my family and 7 days b/f my 25th birthday. i am extremely hurt that he lied for a whole 1month to me. i can not forgive him and dont wan

She is going through a tough breakup with her soon to be Ex. She’s not talking to anyone. But I know she is going through a tough time. I miss her. My girlfriend called me up the other day and said " I wanted to talk to you about this party coming up" then she continued to say " i wanna be able to dance with my other guy friends and have a good time" it made me feel like she doesn't have a good time with me. then she goes " it's not that i dont have fun with you it's just that i wanna have fun with my other friends to" well i actually sat back and thought about it . My boyfriend is making me ill. I ended the relationship due to his binge drinking and putting me in danger due to this. The problem is that he calls me 30 times per day at work, on my mobile so on. He tries blaming me for all his problems by wearing me down saying I have done wrong by not helping, supporting him enough, so on. Then it goes to he loves me and he is sorry, then he calls me to pick on my voice tone and say I am being funny with him because I do not sound happy to hear from him and I am "punishing" him enoough and I am making him ill. I left him due to him drinking at the weekends and being aggresive to me, lying about alcohol consumption and being really controlling, not allowing me male friends, to go out with my friends, wear certain clothes, so on. He says to think of the ggod times we had, which we did sometimes, and to realise im his best friend. But how do you treat your best friend like this? Anybody else out there had this problem and how did it work out for you

sometimes i wonder if it wouldn't be easier if we were like animals, and mated, and moved on.
