Limerence, as posited by psychologist Dorothy Tennov, is an involuntary cognitive and emotional state in which a person feels an intense romantic desire for another person (the limerent object). It is characterized by intrusive thinking and pronounced sensitivity to external events that reflect the disposition of the limerent object towards the individual.



It can be experienced as intense joy or as extreme despair, depending on whether or not the feelings are requited.



While the use of the word has not gained widespread acceptance, nor can it be found in most current dictionaries, limerence theory is nevertheless used in psychological studies dealing with romantic love and is frequently discussed by those interested in Tennov's work.

"Falling in love" is a mainly Western term used to describe the process of moving from a feeling of neutrality towards someone, to one of love.

The usage of the term "fall" implies many things: that the process may have been in some way inevitable or uncontrollable, risky or putting the lover in a state of vulnerability, that the process is irreversible, or all of these things.

The term is generally used to describe an (eventual) love that is strong, although not necessarily permanent.

she emailed me all day long and called me like twice a day. now i leave her messages and emails and she responded once in a week and a half saying "oh my god i am soo busy trying to get my new business off the ground, blah blah blah have a nice day! what is that! Am I a fool if i was interested in her to believe she still has interest? i understand she is busy but what the??? Did i say something wrong to her? i met her once and we had a great time.

So I love my boyfriend and I love going down on him but theres always this weird smell that absolutely grosses me out and ruins the moment for me...and him cause i have to stop once i smell it lol. I've recently found out that people here on YA, esp "singles&dating" are getting so ******* ridiculous! they make enemies, cursing and even back-stabbing each other. What The bloddy hell is this place? aren't we supposed to ask about our relationship life? I've been posting questions about one special girl and i've been labelled as a creepy stalker? WTF! im seeing a older guy im 19 hes 41, is something wrong with this is he using me does he mean everything he say? i care about him i've knowhn him for some years. he's been trying to talk to me but i never gave him the chance because of our age difference but now i have given him a chance. but my mother hates the ideal of me with him because of this me and her not even talking. i have real issues with the fact that my gf has been with other people sexually before me. i know its messed up because that was her life before me and its not like i even knew her then, but its all i can think about sometimes. i just hate the fact that everything shes done with me, shes already done with someone else. it even gets to the point where i will be angry just thinking about it and actually be in a bad mood towards her. does anyone else have this problem? am i like crazy?

Idont want to see your face again, and sometimes i get very angry and i say stupid things also (but notto that extend).
Anyways, i have always felt that he doesnt love me as much asi love him, coz i forgive him (though never forget) but once he calls me, i forget everything..now..he left me over the phone two hours ago (OVER THE PHONE) because he felt i disrespect him coz i said (dont lie, and dont ****** joke about it)..something like that..
He said that as long as i dont respect him..it is over...!i called him again..and again..and he said(dont u understand?it is over)..
Now..it is just weird..three years of an incredible love story..that everybody talked about.(despite all fights)..and thats it??

I am in a relationship where I do not receive any attention or significant time from my man. He says that he is busy, and I do understand, but I am unhappy. I am just wondering what other men do to show that they care. Am I crazy for wanting attention? I may see him once a month, and when I do he is nice, but most of the time he is on his phone, or watching TV. We go out to the movies and dinner sometimes, but I can't remember the last time because it is so long ago, and it does'nt happen much. He lives about an hour from me, and when I ask him to come see me, he says he's tired or has work to do. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Perhaps one can give me advice on what I can do. He is a nice guy, he tells me he loves me, should that be enough? What should a man do to show that he loves a woman? Should he have to do anything?

There is this girl i have fallen in love with and i really want her.
