Singles & Dating - 12 January 2007

I've read alot about relationships and there seems to be a common theme among many of them about making your ex jealous of you so that they'll want you. However, this is very manipulative and in my book just plain stupid and unloving. If you really fall in love with someone else that's one thing, but to play with two people's emotions in this way, just seems like the high-school tactic, and very immature, AND THIS CRAP is supposedly written by professional counselours, showing me just how mature they truly are in their own twisted schemes on life. I have yet to found a tactic that works without being manipulative or harmful to anyone in any way. I am searching for a way I can show my love to my ex in a way that she appreciates, without masquerading that I am okay without her if I am not, without bringing in someone else to dump just to win my ex back, without lying in any fashion, and without hurting her feelings any more than I have already done.

I've been with my bf for a month and like 2 weeks now. And i used to be CRAZY about him, we' re perfect right now. But for some reason im just not into him that much anymore. So many things he does annoy me now, the way he eats, the way he talks, his stupid noises and dumb sense of humor, even kissing him and sex feels so wrong and weird. I think i might just be going through a stage kus this happend once with my other bf but i still wanna know if its just me. Kus last time i went through this we end up being together for 6 months and the feeling went away. So is it just a phase or should i move on?

so this guy i love said he couldn't be with me, but now he is so giving me mixed signals. being extremely nice when we talked about staying away from each other....i've talked to him more since our "talk" than ever before. is he just trying to be nice? or is it possible his feelings have changed? and how do i know for sure without specifically asking him?

my boyfriend and i have been together for about a month now, he is not my type but his personality is OUT OF THIS WORLD. i care about him alot and i mean alot to him too, but the thing is, he has 3 kids, he has a record for Assaulting a Police Officer, and because of his record he cant get a steady job but he works at a fast food restaraunt here in town, i dont want to leave him but since we have been together he has made promises to me and hasnt kept them. for example: he lives about 35 miles from my house and we want to see each other and its about a good 45 min (due to construction) to his house and he has promised to give me and my brother gas money to come and see him and he wouldnt have it. as a matter of fact, he has lied 3 times about giving me and my brother gas money to come to his town so that i could see him. he also had promised to take me on dates that never happened. we havent slept together so i dont think that is the issue. should i leave? help me please n e one!!!!

I recently got back in touch with a guy from my past that I am deeply in love with, always have been. He wants us to be a couple but its been a while since I saw him and I gained a lot of weight. I dont want to see him until I lose weight because I want to be comfortable around him. What should I do, should i just really focus on getting fit, not just for him but period. What would a 20-something Lady, see in a 50-something Man? The reason I ask, is that I have had 5 Ladies email me just this week, trying to start up a relationship! Now I am no prize, and very much flattered that they would be interested! However, it does strike me as odd that they would find me attractive from just a photo on myspace, and very little profile info. I haven't had the time to build the site.

My friend who is Swiss doesn't like to call his girlfriends his girlfrineds because of labeling but then he'll call them his "Best friend" and I have a song by a european band and its called best friend and the girl in it is singing about her best friend and its like her boyfriend, so is it possible that when my friend calls someone his "Best friend" And its a girl that shes his girlfriend? Because he doesn't call my cousin who is like his best friend (Well you know... like normal best friend) he calls him "One of his closest friends" so do you think that the term "Best friend" really does mean boyfriend/girlfriend in europe? A very dear friend of mine started seeing her brother's friend secretly 6 years ago when they were both in between jobs. She said it was quite intense and they got very intimate. It broke off when the chap went to work abroad. She says he wanted to bring it out into the open but she wasn't sure she was ready.

He went away and they didn't speak or see in between. She said she thinks about him all the time but just can't make the next step. She said she contacted him early last year and the whole physical thing started again. He seems to like her enough as she describes him as gentle, considerate, an unbelieveable lover and attentive.

I feel she is playing with his feelings and have told her so. I don't understand what is the stumbling block is? She says she would love to be with him but feels her brother would feel uncomfortable. Any guys out there been in the situation, do you get over it if your sister dates one of your mates? Or should she steer clear?

this guy-tyler i absolutely LOVE him. he is cute and PERFECT hes smart and loved my many ppl including adults because he's a good kid and he tries his best for everything. he gives me compliments, smiles, and talks to me alot, and makes me laugh, he's also not perverted/always talking about sex. Why??

Hey everyone, just needed some advice. My bf and i broke up today due 2 one of his female friends that he calls a 'best friend". She says things about me 2 him and he comes back and tells me about it. Well, a few weeks ago she said 2 him " You should be with me, not her." and recently was giving her daughter a b-day party and told him " I want you at the party, and dont show up with ur gf , I dont like her." Everytime I ask him about her all he says is "I'll handle it." To me, I would like 2 what exactly is I'll handle it? Then today she calls and I answered his phone, told her she wasn't around, you know very polite. Well the girl has her best friend call to speak to him and her best friend asks to speak to me. He hands me the phone and she starts going off. I told her very politely that i wasnt cursing at her & she kept going so i called her a few names and hung up. So I tell him its me or her. Point of the story, we broke up & now he talks 2 his "best friend" again. What u think??

I just broke up with my gf at the beginning of 2007 and also the first day of school. I was really crushed and i tried to be strong. It's only been 10 days that we're apart but i can't help it that she's getting along fine. She said she just wants us to be friends and we can but i still want her so badly. At school, i can't even look at her the same way like i used to in the past because it'll remind me of how much i missed her. I sent messages to her cell about how i'm suffering and how much i missed and think of her and everything. She never replied back though. We've been friends even before we were a couple. See today in school this girl asked my Best Friend (my luv/crush) if he would go to a dance with me, she screamed it! He looked up and smiled and said No. Then on the bus my best friend asked him why he said no. He simpliy said " i don't like her yet" Then she said well maybe schould think it over and he said" he is and he needs to". Thing is he acts like he likes me, I know.
