my ex and i broke up 2 months ago and i decided that we couldn't be friends. but we still have a lot of mutual friends. but the thing is he'll hang out with them and then start asking about me and talking about me with them and talking about his relationship with his new gf, knowing that they're going to tell me. my friend asked him about this and he couldn't give her an answer. i feel as if he's trying to hurt me as much as he says i hurt him. thoughts?

I would just ignore it. I wouldn't worry about him asking questions. I would however ask your mutual friends to please not discuss you with him, that your relationship is over and he is no longer a part of your life. Just move on and forget him.

Maybe your ex is really not sure what he should say and do, whatever he has been saying about your past relationship to mutual friends is almost like a personal attack, and he should respect the fact that you and him are no longet together and that spreading things about a past relationship is not always a cool thing, it might back fire on him if he is not careful. You have done your best and you know what you have to do, if you want to tell your friends about what you heard then do it and find out why he is saying all those things. He is not being very nice and it is almost disrespectfule in one way. He should know better then that. Just don't let it get to you too much or it will be all you will ever think about and you don't need any extra drama in your life or baggage.
