This girl told me she had to be on her own. I resigned myself to her request only to have her text me about 100 times the following weekend. She has been delivering mixed signals since then, really hot then really cold. She still contends she isn't ready for any relationship w/ anyone but I swear she is just not ready to be happy with herself and she gets upset b/c I am happy b/c she is who she is and she doesn't want to accept that it's possible. Moreover, there is definitely at least a part of her (who I think she is trying to spite) that wants me to keep after her. Regardless, why do people fight with themselves refusing to let themselves be happy? Is there anything more ridiculous?

So I have been In a long distance realtionship with this girl for about 5 months. I came home one time and noticed a little tiny red mark/patch on the back of her neck.....ignored it....same home the next time and it was gone....came home again. and she had one on the front of her neck....i asked her what it was and she didn't know what i was talking about until she looked in the mirror and she said she didn't know what it was....she said she thinks it is a birthmark....so i come back again...and it is gone..I ask her what happend to it and she said she didn't know. I kindly asked her if she was cheating on me and she said "ya right'..."why would i do that?"....I just left it at that...and wrote her a letter about being honest with me. She really doesn't seem like she would cheat on me, she hasn't acted any different;y towards me and still always wants to see me.

I've been out with this boy for some time, he's 18...and he thinks I'm 16 (I'm actually not, I'm 14, but I increased my age when we started dating because I really liked him and I know its wrong..!). The problem is that he's really began to act all commitment-like and he always tells me he loves me and talks about "us" in the future. I'm still young and I don't want to spend the rest of my life with him, he's a just-for-now boy. How can I get him to back off a bit?

do guys get over break ups quicker then women? When my BF and I last spoke he said I had ruined his life, he said he would wait for me forever and love me for ever ,(I didn't really expect him to) , I won't go into details but there was another woman who made certain claims,emails and pictures(he says are fake).But only 3 days later he was on Myspace declaring he was single and dating ......it's been 8 days and I haven't been able to get out of bed or get dressed or brush my hair, the thought of him makes me cry (like now) and I don't know what I am going to do without him.Do guys move on quicker,or did he just mean more to me then I did to him?

She's really cute and sweet and I really like her and I'm told she has a massive crush on me but will I even be able to compete in the bedroom since she's used to being with brothas. propose to me. I know he wants to do it tonight, because Christmas is so special to me. He got hurt at work, and can't get down on his knee, he is really upset about this. I was always under the impression that if you were dating someone, it wasn't a relationship and you were free to date other people, as long as you were honest about it (obviously not giving details as to who where and what, but just honest about the status). Now, it seems that dating has turned into this thing where people assume, from the first date, that they and their date are committed to each other, not allowed to see other people.

I am now married, and it wasn't too long ago that I was dating, been with my husband for a total of about 3 1/2 years. Before I met him, I dated. I would go out on different dates with different men (that doesn't mean I was sleeping with them). I thought that this was how we found out what we were looking for. How and when did the status of dating turn into immediate relationship?
