Why is it OK for a man to sleep with a bunch of women, but if a woman sleeps with a bunch of men, she's considered dirty?

We belonged to two different cultures. During our relatioship we discussed alot about our differences and it felt that we could not go together with our respective cultures-- one had to enter into other's culture, which both of us couldnot. So we decided to separtate. But this has not decreased my love for her. Only we have stopped seeing eachother. But my pain is too much for me to bear. Ok, so im friends with this girl, and she is now single, as am I, but I am not sure if she likes me like that. We have kind of tried it before, but I messed it up royally. I dated this guy for a long time w/no commitment, I had to let him go especially when I found out that he cheated on me. He didn't have an answer to my question if he seen me in his future. I told him that it's best to go seperate ways but we still seen each other for 2 more years. Then I let him go again b/c I asked him the same question and still no answer. I told him, the first girl he'll meet after me, he'll marry and he did. He got married not even a year of knowing her, and they have a kid now. He just got in contact with me and told me all this...He has a great job (mechanical engineer) he's in TX and is building another house. That's not fair to me! I feel that I deserve all the things that this other girl replaced me. I been with him w/no job, through college(both of our college years), 6 years with nothing. my boyfriend is going to go get married to someone in order to get his papers. this is something i will never do b/c it's morally wrong. he claims he doesn't want to break up with me but he just needs the space to do it and then when it's over we can be in our relationship. he still wants to do things like go the movies, and be with my family....i said absolutely not...if he loves me he wouldn't do something so outrageous. there's nothing i can say to change his mine. he's going to do it!!!!
