Why is it OK for a man to sleep with a bunch of women, but if a woman sleeps with a bunch of men, she's considered dirty?

Exactly! This is the way of life tho, its terrible. Another thing, my present husband, says fat women are worthless. Ok, not true, pisses me off - but fat men? That's ok? If you feel that way about someone being heavy, then shouldn't it be all the way around, men and women? I think its horrible the way things are. My husband is an idiot for his way of thinking but men in general think like that alot. I say whats good for the goose is good for the gander!

I don't know but in my mind, a man that sleeps with a bunch of women is considered dirty to me. Not a good dirty, a bad dirty, someone that can't be trusted and someone that will probably never settle down and be faithful.

I think it goes back to that nature/patriarchal thing where guys had more than one wife. They obviously slept with all of them but it was considered okay because it was a normal practice. Kings use to do it and I know some of them still do. Some of them have mistresses. It may be because back in the day men had multiple wives so they could have multiple children-which I guess would make it seem like there was a good reason for it. With a woman, if she had multiple guys that wouldn't mean she'd have multiple children, at least not at the same time-this would make it seem unprofitable for a woman to have more than one suitor. I think that people still think like that despite how the world has changed.

I'm not saying I agree with this but a friend mentioned this and I thought it was interesting. During sex, a woman is accepting something into her body (assuming no condoms are used) and sperm is left in her.
For guys, we are sticking a part of our body into a woman. It is not considered as "dirty".
Look at it this way, your hands touch tons of dirty things and you are willing to touch dirty things with it. But how many people would willingly put dirty things in themselves (mouth, etc.)
Like I said, it is not something I believe it but always found it a fascinating point.

This goes far far FAR back in human evolution. Men want to try to have sex with as many women as possible to spread their genetics, while at the same time, try to keep as many women as possible exclusive to themselves so that they aren't competing with other men for the right of their genetics to be passed on.
It's our primal nature.

You know I still haven't figured that out yet. As far as I know of it is wrong for both if you are seeing somebody. Also a girl can get pregnant and a guy can't.
