In a situation like this, sometimes it's more important what you don't say. Just make it very clear that you're there to listen toher vent, cry, *****, then eventually move on. She'll be okay, but just needs you there to be there with her. Try this- make her her absolute favorite cake, rent her favorite movie, and have a girls-only hang out night. Might really help.

I'd say just being there for her is the best thing you can do right now. Sometimes it's situations like this that you really can't say anything to make the pain/hurt go away. Just liten, be there, whatever she needs. That way she knows you're there and that's the best feeling!

Just be there for her and tell her if she needs to talk you will be there to listen. Try and take her out the house to get her mind off of it some. If she has to see him to get any belongings back offer to do it for her or to go with her. Other than that give her time and let her know it will eventually get better and that it is ok for her to cry.

Just being there for her is the most important and best thing you can do. She has to come out of this with her own lesson/philosophy, so just be there to comfort her and help her by being a shoulder to cry on and a resounding board for her to get her hurt, anger, and frustrations out on.

Just be there for her and maybe go out and do something she likes to take her mind off of it for a while. Whatever you do, try not to dis the ex-boyfriend much even if she does, because you never know, they might get back together tomorrow!

When that happened to my best friend, I didn't know what to do either, so I just spent time with her and let her cry and stuff and was just basically there. Just sort of act normally, be around if she wants you to, and try and do some fun things with her. She might feel really bad being alone. You are already a good friend because you're worried about her, so just keep being one :)

Take her out somewhere - make a special day out for the girls...try to get her mind off it, but if she brings the subject up, listen to her, and let her know you're there for her.
You sound like a very caring friend.
Best wishes!

Breaking up is a hard thing to get over. Just offer your ears.. and try a movie.. and girls nights. I think those are always useful. All the same... the only thing she needs right now is esteem, good friends and a good ear to listen to her problems.

Take her out keep her out and keep her busy...don't let her sit home and sulk listening to sad music in the dark and reading old love notes....don't pressure her into finding another man but show her that there is plenty of fun to be had out there with good friends
