Singles & Dating - 3 November 2006

I'm 34 in great shape and have a giving personality--which I consider a rare, positive quality. I have a job and graduated college in the top 10% of my class. I've tried every thing imaginable to increase my friendship network and dating prospects, including personals, dance clubs, bookstores, laundry mats, and just approaching strangers. I still can't get a date with a slim woman who has no kids and doesn't smoke. I've even considered relocating since I'm part Latino from Knoville, TN to a more progressive city like Atlanta. I can't afford to do that now. Is there a point when I should stop looking and accept that fact that there is something that is repelling people? I do have a larger than average nose...I think I look Italian or somewhat Arab--but surely this is not the reason--or is it? Being dateless makes it hard to feel like a man sometimes...any advice or even a friendship would be appreciated. I don't usually sound so desparate, but I am at wits end.

Could this be difficult relationship wise. I don't know if his family would accept me. Has anyone had experience with this? Also wouldn't want to convert. I shoiuld just add that he is westernised and lives in London and doesn't wear their traditonal dress etc. Thank you.

hi,my ex and i split up a few months ago and out of the blue he has sent me an e-mail saying he still cares.my parents thought he was shifty and so did i in fact,he was a lot older and my window cleaner.he wasn't very intelligent and also pressured me a lot to begin with.the e-mail is very sweet and i am a good person and i don't want to feel i have hurt him by not replying.he wants to be my friend and says we both weren't ready for a relationship when we got together.do i reply or not??? please help!!!

ok heres how it goes.................... i dunno how manyth time ive posted all this on yahoo answers... but well i think its the only way,, ok the guy i like is in london since more than one n a half month...be4 he left we were best buds n i kinda started liking him.. wenhe left i was depressed not to see him for the longest time as we were ALWAYS on msg EVERYDAY.... now tht hes gone i miss him like crazy n cried my self to sleep.... since hes gone ive not heard from him.. New years eve 2005/2006. I met a girl and we had a wonderful January together. By the end of the month she dumped me with out so much as a reason.

There were times when "big ben" wouldn't rise to the occaision (I'm man enough to admit that despite being nearly 24), and thats what happened the night she dumped me, that or she mis interpreted a sexual suggestion. I think she used me for sex and that was it. And when I wasn't doing it for her someone else was. She was always on about other guys...

She was 18 and fresh out of High School and a virgin. And I loved her. I still love her very deeply.

And thats what I need help with. How do you possibly begin to get over someone who had that profound an impact on your life!?

Focussing on achieving Black belt helped take my mind off things. But now I'm alone again, watching everyone else have relationships and get married etc...

Am I the definition of pathetic? Why is it so hard to let go?

Last week my car was messing up my transmission is going out on me and I ask my boyfirend to take me to work. He told me yes at first but later on that day he said."He was'nt taking me and that he was planing on getting drunk and going out to the club. So I end up driving my car to work but it was pulling 25 mph on the road. I have to drive at least 20 miles to get to work. I explain to him how I feel and that I felt hurt by him not being there for me when I needed him.He also told me that the reason he did'nt me was because he felt like I was able to make it to work and He was'nt getting out his bed to come and get me. He told me that I need to get over it and that I'm over reacting. But I'm am hurt because he should have been there for me. Now he has broking up with me because he say I should'nt carry on things for along time and that he is not wrong. What should I do. :(

me and my girl have been together for almost 2 years. We have a big prroblem when it comes to trust. I have been getting close to this guy who has had a hard time committing to me, we see each other every day. If i don't go to his house he rings me asking where I am, and I go. Our new activity together is i now go grocery shopping with him once a week. When we first got close i could speak to him about everything and anything.

Now I know i am pushing him away because I am scared he will hurt me. This has resulted in a barrier between us and I hardly speak now. He have idle chit chat but mainly i sit there in scilence watching tv or playing with his dogs.

We have spoken about this sort of and he said he was worried I no longer needed him, i tried to explain that wasn't the problem, but he had to get out of the car and thats where that conversation stopped.

He is hanging in there cause he still wants to see me everyday. But his non commitment is making me non talkative. Any suggestions how I can get passed this? I am scared he is starting to see me as an empty vessel
