New years eve 2005/2006. I met a girl and we had a wonderful January together. By the end of the month she dumped me with out so much as a reason.
There were times when "big ben" wouldn't rise to the occaision (I'm man enough to admit that despite being nearly 24), and thats what happened the night she dumped me, that or she mis interpreted a sexual suggestion. I think she used me for sex and that was it. And when I wasn't doing it for her someone else was. She was always on about other guys...
She was 18 and fresh out of High School and a virgin. And I loved her. I still love her very deeply.
And thats what I need help with. How do you possibly begin to get over someone who had that profound an impact on your life!?
Focussing on achieving Black belt helped take my mind off things. But now I'm alone again, watching everyone else have relationships and get married etc...
Am I the definition of pathetic? Why is it so hard to let go?

just keep moving forward. everytime you start to think of her or miss her tell yourself the word no. No I won't think about her right now. No I won't give in to missing her right ow. Get out and meet new people you'll find a new relationship soon. Help others that have less than you and you will feel better about your own losses

You know, there are certain things that no matter how hard we tried to forget and accept, we have to do the right thing. If I tell you to forget her and find the right girl for you, still, if you dont want to, you will not. It is only a matter of who you are and what you want to happen. You are not a pathetic person. You just cant forget her. It is hard to let go because you are holding some memories, some moments you think you can't have with other's arms. It is only you and yourself that you can handle it. By prayers you will find your strenght and right decision. But then if you really like this person, ask for God's favor to lay upon you His wisdom. If you ask, and believe, He will grant you. Anyway, people often say.. let it go , and if you are destined to be together, you will find each others arms again but such a cliche, don't they realize that without effort destiny is useless.

Dude, relax. You are doing just fine. There is no point in stressing or thinking about someone who does not want to be with you any way. Take some time for yourself and start meeting new girls.
There was a time when I felt exactly like that and I never thought I would get out of it but I did. Everything in life is temporary. You will get over this. At 24, it is quite easy to find someone who suits you. It is hard to let go sometimes but you will get out of it. Itis for your own good. And that about big ben you mentioned... that happens to the best of us a few times in our lives. No big deal. Move on. Join your local gym and start meeting some chicks. Get enrolled in fraternities just to meet women. Don't be afraid to approach them and talk to them. It is all about the state of mind, my friend.

It is so hard to just stop feelings for someone you love. You will always have a place in your heart for her and it will hurt but you will be able to find someone. You sound like a nice and caring guy. It is hard to admit what you admitted and you get mad kudos for it! I hope you can just realize that you did your best and there will be someone who will value you even with flaws or problems. Take care and keep up the martial arts. They are an excellent discipline and stress reliever!

u r the definition of pathetic. but u can change that. first, you have to realize that women don't have sex for the reasons that men do, and that women have a diffrent way of thinking than men. i donno if i got the clue right but my guess is that u were too needy and desperate and she noticed that. more, she just finished highschool and she needs to grow up too. girls that old dump people frecvently. again, i'm not saying it was completly her fault, so watch out not to be too needy. do u like it when women act like guys? if not you may ask urself: isn't the same thing about girls? what i mean is, girls like men that they cannot control (i'm not saying here completly jerks). my guess is that ur chances with her are LOW so move on cuz u'll find someone. when u do, start as "just friends". don't show her too much interest, don't b their dog.
