I'd say it's good and attractive for a guy to have a sense of humour but he also needs to have other things going for him aswell like you say being reliable, caring, honest and loving.
I think a persons sense of humour is on of the 1st things a girl notices besides looks the other things come later.
Ow yea and i cant be doin with drunks so sobers good!

Grendle is right.
I've no sense of humour whatsoever and bnever had any problems.
Better to:
1. offer dependable prospects (usually economically)
2. a. learn to give the appearance of listening to the vaccuous babbling that pases for conversation among the female of the species and b. appear to take it seriously.
3. Enjoy shopping.
You can be as ugly as a post, by the way, but always wear good shoes, and don't use bad language.

Depends on the individual I suppose. I personally like guys who act the clown, they're usually fun, interesting, know how to make you laugh and have tons of good friends. Too serious is boring. I think the answer is knowing when to be serious and when to be funny. If a guy can strike the right balance then he's a winner!!! :-)

Sense of humor is one of those "polite fictions" that girls like to tell interviewers. Check out who women bond with and it is almost invariably men with power - physical strength, monetary wealth, intellectual prowess, social standing, political influence, whatever.
This is genetic. Inborn. And sensible.
Look, if your goal is to become physically incapacitated for six or seven MONTHS reproducing your genetic pattern for posterity, you too would be looking for "a provider" to ensure survival of yourself and your babby.
Nowadays, there are few lions roaming the sidewalks, and it is not hard to hunt-and-gather at the Safeway or Food Barn store. But the instinct is still there.
So get a job, stop joking around, make something of yourself, then see how you do.

Because good humor and clowning around is NOT the same thing. I like my husband's humor, but don't like it when I'm the butt of a joke or gag. I don't like when he throws a used damp paper towel at me and thinks it's hilarious. I like when he can make me laugh and smile. But not when he thinks he's a cut-up. I guess it's how it's presented, and who is the butt of the joke. IF you think that calling your girlfriend a 'blondie' is funny, then I assume that she won't and that you'll end up dumped.

what they mean is they like lots of attention, and when the silly ice breaker jokes are gone, theses need to be replaced with compliments, sweet little gestures and other things that make us smile.
