After the death of my older brother(He died from cancer on his 10th birthday. I was 3 at the time and my younger brother was 2)my mother abandoned my little brother and I with our father. He proceded to start drinking and beating us. We were frequently starved as well. He would send us to a babysitter while he went to work. The so called babysitters were usually lowlife family members on his side all of which I had never met, abused us in every way imagined. When I was 6 and by brother 5 our family finally saw fit to releave us of our father and my grandma took me and our cuzin took lil bro. My grandma abandoned me shortly after, I went with a different cuz, after they were tired of me I switched homes a few more times and then ended up with my little brother again and his family. Aside from the husbands horrible temper(frequent beatings) things were good. Then my mom came back. She wanted us and we didn't know here so we rejected her. Now she hates my cuz now.

What can I do?

i am diabetic since i was a kid,i am in my early thirties now,one night my car broke down so i had an important business place to go so i rided the bus,midway i got hypoglycaemia (happens all the time)but this time i ate some chocolate and after that for first time i realized i am a lonely man ,i have family but no love and its really got to me that night ,especially when i saw couples and ppl in love with kids in the bus..i dont want sympathy but has anyone evr felt same and can tell there story???thanks

ok, this girl i really like and care for seems alright but i had a feeling shes not. i konw its a terrible thing to do but i thought it was for own good so i got on her myspace and read all her messages. it turns out shes in a really depressesing and confused state, and has been making bad choices. i really want to help her though this and i told her i would be there for her after i told her i thought she was depressed. i havent got any response from her...is she just absorbing it? i cant really tell her everything unless i told her i read all her messages which would infuriate her. but i feel so obligated to tell her and sit her down and talk to her about it.

so is she absorbing this info?

or should i sit her down and have a serious talk

She was date raped last weekend.

I don't know the guy and have no idea what he looks like. It's killing me because she is like my younger sister (I'm 22, she's 20). We have talked about it a lot and she doesn't want me to do anything about it. I'd smash the guys face in if she hadn't made me promise not to. Worst thing is that she won't tell anyone, and won't let me either. She said she didn't want to let it affect her that much because that would make him win. I understand her thinking but he needs to pay, if not by me then by the law. I'm close to calling the police department, the only thing that's stopping me is that she would never talk to me again if I told the police. She said to just leave it be so she can go on with her life. The big brother side of me doesn't want to listen but my friend side does.

I have a girlfriend. We are both going thru divorces (prior to knowing each other) but she tends to put her friends ahead of our plans to be alone. Example: We agreed to go away alone for her birthday. It has now turned into a group road trip with HER friends. Every weekend that we spend together without our respective children, one day basically needs to be spent with us being with HER friends. Sometimes I think I am always "compromising" to be with her friends just to make her happy! She admits that her friend are ultra important to her and that is understandable. We live 45 minutes away from one another and I have made midweek trips to see her. However, the ONLY times she has offered to see me midweek was not about US, but also involved one of her friends and her job. Not just a simple "seeing me" visit. Am I stupid for believing she loves me or does it even sounds like she loves me as she states that she does? Or should I let her be so she can enjoy her life with her friends???

i really want to get to no him better, we often talk after class, but its becoming a routine of me taking my time to be the last one out, i however never know how else to see him, as he only teaches me a few times. i cannot simply ask him if he would like to go to talk e.t.c but i have no idea really how to be able to get to know him.

I broke up with my boyfriend and met a guy who has been in touch with me for a year.I had a laugh with him, and like him more and more as we meet up. Originally I didn't feel anything for him as I had just split from someone and was thinking of that guy.New guy had been hinting at a relationship with me 2 wks ago, but I didn't really reply etc. However now I like him more and more I think. We are doing some work for each other but I think that that was more of an excuse on his part to meet up with me.Today we met again and he was working on stuff for me.I was helping him. Then we got cosy on the couch, he is so chilled out that I liked it all. We ended up in bed and the chit chat was a laugh,we had a good laugh. After a couple of hours, he said he was therapy for me to get me back out there? I was like therapy? All other times he has been telling me I'm fantastic etc, now I'm thinking he just wanted to make me feel better. But why would he do that? We were never friends to begin with.

My mother asked my little sisters mate to stay over tomorrow night, but my sister cant be arsed at all.

How can she get out of this one.

She can't be honest about the fact she dont want her to stay, and she cant say she's ill because she thinks it's too obvious an excuse, plus she will see her in school in the day time.

My boyfriend dresses different from my family; I don't really have a problem with it. My mother said "If you really love her, you would change." But I don't want that for him, I wouldn't want him to tell me that I need to change.

Does she have a point?

Or should he stay the way he is.

Even though it's just a phase, because slowly I'm starting to see him grow up.
