I think that in order for relationships to last, those involved must start out as friends. Friendship allows time for both parties to get to know one another. How can you fall in love with someone you don't really know. All that said, yes I think it is possible for friends to fall in love.

Yes I think friends can fall in love absolutely. I think Love IS a friendship on fire...It is the root of nearly every good, solid relationship...I think when you are so close with someone like friends are then if theres chemistry there you will accidentelly fall into it and it will be great.

Yes, but normally when a friendship grows to "love", It's hardly to realize at the beginning; not straight away. You thought, it's just the care feeling as a friend. You will realize this most, when both of you are apart. Then you start thinking each other continuosly. The longer both of you in distance, the more you miss each other; feel that something missing from part of your life that used to be. Let's say even if you realize this somehow, you possibly wouldn't dare to admit it or sometimes you don't even trust yourself that 'it's LOVE' not just an ordinary friendship anymore.
But the results are not always the same. Some people have a happy end with a bf & gf relationship and marriage, but there are also with a sad end which makes good friends turn into strangers.
Well, it happened to my sis, she got a guy; a very good FRIEND after all for almost 5 years. They always hung out together with & without other friends, at school & outside. They talked everything; talked their secrets, their feeling, etc. They just trusted each other and they shared their happiness, sadness, troubles, etc. the whole years when they were at school. But later, they went to separate university. So they didn't meet as often as used to be, but still calling each other everyday. Finally that guy admitted his feeling & proposed his love to my sis. Well, my sis didn't have the same feeling as his. She liked someone else (although he knew about it from her). So... of course she refused him. Since then, she felt uneasy to have a true conversation as before because she knew he liked her. She even felt betrayed, because he didn't treat her as his best friend the way she did to him. He made her confused & totally disappointed; she felt she lost her greatest, most loyal & most valuable friend that she knew for her entire life. She realized, her bestfriend turned into a stranger that she wouldn't recognize anymore. In the end, she decided to avoid him for their best.
After telling you my sister's story, you could see that a friendship can turn into a successful love story, if there's only chemistry between both of you; which both parties have the same feeling 'LOVE'; not only from one side. No matter if both you have a lot of things in common and how long the friendship is, make sure your best friend have the same feeling as yours, before you announce your love. Most important, make sure if there's no other in part of her heart yet. Otherwise, you're gonna scary her to run away from you!!!

Hi, yes I think friends can fall in love and can make a good relationship, because they know each other better than the person they just met, I think it's better to be friends with someone before you start dating them, you need to be able to trust, and that's why i think, yep friends can fall in love....
Hope i have helped ; )

Sure!! Most marriages that last started out as friends. Look at it this way, why are you friends? because you both like the same things right? well, to have a lasting relationship you have to have things in common with each other! So yeah, friends CAN fall in love!!

Everyone is pretty much saying the same thing but I have to agree with them. You're probably bored with all the same answers but when you're friends it's true that you can fall in love. It's happened many times to people I know.

Oh yes, and they seem to make the best 'in lovers.' Friends start off with respect and with understanding each other. A recipe for a successful relationship ;)
