My 28 year old son has been dating a girl for two years. He lives in a city about 3 hours away. I met the girl more than a year and a half ago. Although she is pleasant, and I have had about 7 visits with her, I have not come to like her. I find her superficial, materialistic and too focused on having fun. My husband has the same impression. My son has this side to his personality and she brings it out. I prefer his serious, helpful side. After every time I spend with her my son asks what I think of her. I have dodged the question by answering that I really don't know her very well but she seems nice. My son and his girlfriend stayed with us this weekend. She and I did a fun girl activity for a couple of hours and I still see the same qualities I don't care for. My son wants me to like her and approve of him marrying her. I don't but realize he probably will marry her and don't want to say anything that will alienate him. So what should I say when he asks if I like her?

I have already talk to police awhile back on this matter according to the state of NE she is of legal age to have consensual sex, I don't think this is right, this man is much old and has targeted my daughter, she is due Oct 1st 2006, I'm still responsible for her until she is 19yrs, to make it worst, he gave her an S.T.D.,if anyone has any referrals or advise please let know I'm at a loss right now and I would be so grateful for some help.

I actually met my girlfriend over the internet. I know what your saying it's not going to work. We have been together a lot lately. I have never met anyone like her. We both have had a rough past, almost similar experiences. I have never felt like this towards any of my other past relationships. She feels the same. I am 150% sure that this is the woman i am suppose to be with. She has a son that is 2 1/2 and I never thought i would fall for a woman with a kid. However, I love her son and treat him like he were mine. His father signed over his rights when he was born. So what im trying to say is I believe, Do you?

I love my kids father but we have so many things that comes between us. He is my world but how do i get pass all the things as far as I feel he don't know what his life goals and aspirations are and he's not making any effort that I see towards it. He has graduated from high school but will not contiune his education in college. He don't have a job either ( calims he can't find a job). I'm ready for big things and i want he in the picture. Recently he has not been as affectionate and makes excuses for his actions. I know he is not cheating on me. He has been working a lot of overtime, and that seems to be his excuse. He has no desire to communicate and when he does he says hurtful things and then laughs in my face. He has not paid our phone bill (its in my name), our phone got shut off, and he asks me how my credit rating is. He dosent seem to want to touch me when I'm awake, but seems to try to have sex when I'm sleeping. I told him I need a little something while I'm awake. He is accusing me of being jealous when I confront him about these concerns that have nothing to do with jealousy. I do all the cooking for both of us, last weekend he made eggs & toast and sat down in front of me & ate them, then said, oh did you want some? You should have said you wanted something. He did the same thing, same day with lunch. Is this a man thing? Am I over-reacting? Would like some advice.

I met my girlfriend like 4 years ago, she was just the sweetest person i'd ever met, she was nice loving and respectful girl. Now It's the complete opposite. She is such a ***** and it's got the point where we don't even love each other any more. Do you think there is a chance that she would ever be that way again for me?

My sister told me she has been taking Zoloft for months now. She is not in therapy and she is doing nothing to help her situation. She has a 3yr old and she works 2 jobs (hair stylist/waitress). Her husband is a janitor who is 30 with the mentality of a 17 yr old. They are in credit card debt. My brother was on anti-depressants and he took his own life almost 2 yrs ago. She trusted me with this info that she's taking the medicine, knowing that the rest of my family would be very judgmental if they found out. How do I tell her that just taking this medicine won't solve her problems?? How do I help her help herself? (I live in a different state 8 hrs from her).

My girlfriend and I are truly in love. I recently met her parents and they made me feel like I didn't belong. They thought I was an ex-con (never been in trouble with the law), I probably have HIV (i did my own tattoos), and that they feared for their lives with me around (WHAT?). They never took the chance to know me just criticize me about every little thing, smoking, tattoos, my past. They are a bit wealthy and i come from a lower middle class family. To me they seem like they put money before happiness. The way I see it they see their daughter happy and they don't want to see it. Another thing that makes me real angry, she has a son that is turning 3 and i love him very much. I treat him like my own. They think she is a bad mother, not true. They seem to think that when he's around he gets ignored, he gets all the attention when he is awake. everyone that sees us playing around think I am a very loving father figure. So what the hell is her parents problem?

Ok I was with my current gf for a year and a half (together 11 months before she went away for college). I came and visit her every 2-3 weeks and would talk on msngr or on the phone evryday. We did have some arguments but were still in love and happy when together.

Well around march we both started getting emails from someone saying that she was cheating on me and that she never loved me. She and I both informed each other when we got these emails and i told her that I thought one of her friends was sending it because she told me that he once said he liked her.

Well in early April she came home and told me that she thought it was better if we took a break because she was getting stressed from school and other things and just needed time to priortize things. Well the next weekend she invited me to her programs end of year party and I found out she slept with this guy twice since we broke up. The next day we found out he was the one sending the emails.
