Like making posters to put around the house w/ looking tacky, stickers and making the ten year old realize that she is 10 and her brother is 3 and there is a difference

My kids like the posters and stickers, but by the same token you dont necessarily need to make it all that fun. Remember this is work, they need to be taught a good work ethic, and not taught that all work will be exciting and fun. Just my opinion, but my kids do it regardless of what it is and they are learning very well!

Forget fun, who is in charge? Explain that everyone in the family works, so everyone can play. Set a timer for no more then an hour for the 10 yr. old. Let them choose the chore. Don't be too picky about the result, look for good effort. They will get better in time. Give them the feeling that working together is being part of a family.

I make a chart for my kids and put it on the fridge. If they do their chores for the day they get a sticker for the day. Then at the end of the week if they get all stickers, they get to go to McDonalds and go bowling on the weekend. It is the initiative that will drive them.

I have hidden lots of candy in place (that happen to need to be cleaned) that you can have if you clean the area around them first. Music is also fun, and everyone doing the chores at the same time, will make it so when one area may be really dirty others might jump in too help. Be creative.

post it notes around places they go to like the TV, Computer, Video Games. They will go there and see the notes

one time with these girls i babysat i had two bowls-one was a chore bowl and one was a fun bowl. if they picked out a chore and did it they got to pick something out of the fun bowl.
