Friends - May 2007

He doesn't pay rent or utilities. He refuses to clean or cook or anything else, but he does smoke continually in the house after promising not to. I got bronchitis from his second hand smoke. He has a grumpy personality and spends all his non-working time in his room playing with his laptop, games and watching television like a dysfunctional teenager, but he is 48.

On a daily basis she will come at me like she my mother, then some days she holds conversation normally, then another day she acting all smart alexy. What should I do? So far, I've just been doing my work and keeping to myself not even conversating with her. Is this the right thing to do?

Okay, now i'm sad. there was this guy okay, and we got along just fine and everything. we could just sit and email eachother and talk about stuff important to us. well, he told me he really liked my personality and asked for a picture. so i sent him one, okay so maybe it was like a year old, but i haven't changed...since i sent him the picture he hasn't emailed me or wanted to talk. is it because i'm ugly or what? I don't get it and i could use a little advice or support. thanks

Every year my husband and I and all our friends plus about 50 other people go on a canoe float that lasts all weekend. This year I am not going, because I am 27 weeks pregnant and there is going to be too many drunk people and potential accidents, not to mention the fact that I can't get in and out of a canoe without assistance and would be uncomfortable anyways. My husband informed me the other day that he was going to go without me. Now keep in mind that all my friends are going to be gone on this trip and my mom, dad, and siblings are in Cleveland for a month. So I am going to be all by myself all weekend. My husband thinks I am being selfish in being upset with him for going without me and leaving me alone. Am I? What in the hell am I going to do for 3 days alone?

At school i'm friends with 3 other girls, we always hang out and have heaps of fun together at school. Except they are never able to catch up on the weekends or holidays because they say they are busy. Its not that they don't want to catch up with me but their parents are strict and they have to do stuff with their families. So basicly every weekend im stuck at home by myself. One of my friends that used to be in our group was able to catch up with me any time and we used to always go to the shops & movies. But unfortunatly shes now moved countries and im finding it extremely boring on the weekends and school holidays. Where can i meet new people? & Should i still be friends with these 3 girls?

My best friend is totally awesome.
I love everything about her, except her bragging about her money.

I personally think that money isn't everything.
I'm far fine without being rich.
My life is perfect and more.
I couldn't ask for better!

But everytime we hang together, she always has to brag.
I'm going on a 3 month vacation.
I have 6 cars.
I bought 2 new houses.
And so on.

I've told her my opinion and she thinks I'm jelous.
Which isn't true. I just happen to be a simple person.
I'm happy and I love my life.

So what do I do?
How do I make her shut up, about her bragging?
And to stop thinking I'm jelous?

I have been best friends with a guy for 10 years now. We have never dated, but he knows I have feelings for him. We talk on the phone for hours, hang out all the time and if anyone gives me any problems he makes sure they don't ever again. We want to move in together. Ok well me and my friend had a math class in college together last semester and like we became friends with our teacher which is also a female (all of us our females)... anyway, the last day we all went out to eat and she told us to keep in touch and that she wanted go see us again and eat again soon. Well I have been the only one talking to her through email since the class is over. Our former teacher is married but doesn't have kids but pregnant with her first. We try to make plans with her and she agreed to go eat again but said we will have to go do the other plan on a later dat b/c she is on the day we wanted to go. Well.. my friend says we should stop trying to hang with her and talk to her b/c she is too hard of a person to make plans with.. but then again she dont even talk to her ever. Also.. she doesnt seem to understand that she is married and has other things she has to do. I dont agree with her and plan to continue the friendship. Do you think I am doing the right thing?

what if this friend stayed "friendly" with you and even helped you in your time of need after the fact? (you even confided in this person about your relationship issues...both before and after their deed...oblivious of what the person had done behind your back)

suppose this person was also your child's Godparent (whom they love dearly)

would this person still be your friend if you found out about their previous flirtations and one night affair about a YEAR later and you and the other person (your bf/gf) were breaking up?
