Food and drink! That's what makes a good party! Maybe some outdoor games if it's nice out...volleyball, frisbee, croquet (sounds dull but it's SO fun), swimming - maybe you could hold your get together at a local park/outdoor area? Buy one of those big fried-chicken meals from walmart, the ones that serve a whole lot of ppl, then let everybody dig in at the park and hang out/swim?

Other than that...I'd say you need to find some less flaky friends! Invite alot of ppl, have a great time, and remember who doesn't show up so you can tell them what an AWESOME party they missed! ;) Happy birthday.

Let them give some input. Ask whats going on and what sounds like a good plan. Maybe plan on going somewhere. Its always nice to be involved in a friends birthday. And do make different then a normal get together.

well not all mt Friends are flaky but i have a cousin and we are like best friends and she is very flaky and i hate it sooo i decide that every time i wanted her to be there i would tell her there would be lots of liquor to drink with music or well all go to a club later or whatever. i basically lie to her for her to come and she comes and we don't always do what i say we are going to do and she still has fun. the thing is she is lazy and that's what keeps her from coming around sometimes. it doesn't always work but its worth a try. tell your friends how important your b-day is to you and how much you would love for them to be there and make it sound good to them so they come if that's what you want to do. but you know with a flake you can never tell still if there coming or not, so good luck with everything.

Free Booze. Or make it a theme party, Pimps and Hoes usually goes good, or anything for a buck is fun. If you have guy friends with girlfriends, call the girlfriends and make sure they know, then the guys will come for sure. If your friends like cards, have a poker tournament, people love the opportunity to win money.

When I have a pampered chef party or something of the sort that I want a really good turnout to, I always call a week in advance to remind them, them 4 days before, and then the night before to "confirm" good luck :)

Have food and beer. Have it at the drive inn movies. Have a cook out or at a swimming hole. Get a karioke machine. Do it at a bowling alley.

Point is, just make it sound like a bunch of fun.

Ask all of them (Seperately) to give you a hand, to cope with the rush of people, that have all agreed to come.
If they all turn up, you may have some problems, regarding who is doing what to help you.
If this happens, put somebody else in charge, chill out and enjoy your birthday.
Not sure when it is, but please accept my best wishes for a great day.

I always get people over with promise of food and fun. Try sending out invites. It sounds lame but you would be surprised how many people will be there if you formally invite them. Try hosting a murder mystery game. they sell them at Target.com and they are really fun!
