Friends - February 2007

I have a problem. Mature people only please thanks. What should do? I have problems with my stupid neighbors: They are college aged and are very noisy and snobby. One time, I followed the advice of someone on here who said to befriend them, but that didn't work out. They are nice in general, but I thought I could make friends with them last year but that didn't work out because they didn't really want to be my friend. I thought they did because one of them lent me their DVD to watch that time and when I brought it back, weeks later I emailed her because she gave me her email but I also asked for her #, I thought that we were going to be friends from that day forward but I was wrong and now my feelings are hurt because I think she was only trying to be a good neighbor and not a friend because I invited her over to my house one time and she declined and then whenever I see her now, she doesn't say hi or anything. Then her college roomates always through a party and never....

My friend started cutting herself a lil over a month ago. And I just found out her bf knows and we are trying to get her to stop and I don't know what to do I care about her so much he helped me get threw so many problems and I have helped her but this time it seems like she doesn't want help like she doesn't want to stop and I don't know what to do if there is anyone out there who might be able to help please let me know

For the past 5 years I have had what I thought was a close, good friendship with a girl down my road. We both have children of the same age etc. Now whilst she was and still is happily married I was single so it was to my house she would come to sit, chat have a glass of wine etc.
Last year I had the good luck to have a wirlwind romance and got married. We have moved house - but only a few houses down the road - in fact closer to my friend.
My door has remained open to her.
Unfortunately she makes it clear she is not fond of my husband, her husband came across for a drink with mine whilst I was out and simply took a bottle of wine without asking, returning it the next morning saying oh K**sten doesn't like white, is quite demanding and is constantly telling me I have changed etc.
I am getting increasingly fed up with it. I have not said anything back merely let her say whatever she wants etc. But I no longer feel comfortable with her and so thought clearing the air would help?

My friend is getting married soon. He is a really nice guy, and everyone likes him. He has been very sucessful in the business that he owns and he has a nice house and cars and everything, but he isn't one of those rich jerks or anything like that. A few years ago he was very supportive of me when I was going through a hard time in my life, but I am wondering what to do because yesterday I was talking to his fiance and she asked me, if he died ... would she get his money.

I am not surprised that she would say something like that, because she only seems interested in his money. She talks about it all the time. He loves her, but I don't think she loves him. I just know that once they have been married for a couple months, she will divorce him to get the money.

Should I tell him about this? Should I tell him that she asked me that question? He helped me, so maybe I should help him, because I don't think he knows her real intentions. What should I do?

i got in contact with a guy i use to go to school with he was calling me everyday the first week and now he only calls like once a week or every other week.i find it very insulting.we discussed it and he says he cares about us staying in touch but i dont see it.deep down i know i gotta end the friendship its sucks a little but hes not being a good friend or leaving me much choice.any thoughts on this?

My son is 15 & had a g/f 17,well they would have been together for 1 year on 2/15/07,day after Valentines!Anyway,she broke up with him a couple of days ago and he is devistated!!So heartbroken.His whole life has changed now.I feel so very bad for him!I know it will take time,but eventullay the pain will ease & he will be alright,but how do I say that & make him understand?It just hurts me so much to see him in so much pain!!!

Ok My so called two friends keisha and keely took my cell phone out of my purse.and it was in the looker room at school.and when i found it to be missing i was crying and keisha said its ok ill help you look for it.later on that day the teacher found it and gave it to me.keisha called me and told me she took it with keely.and i acted like i was her friend and all then the next day me and my other friend chelsy kept hiting her in the head witha volly ball.then me and keisha were talking and argueing,and then i punched her and then we got into a fist fight and i pulled her side bangs almost out.and now i am suspended for a week do you think i was wright or wrong?

I have never experienced a friend saying I Love You so this makes me a little uncertain. I have a man that I have been friends with since high school. Over the years I had fallen in love with him and made him aware of my feelings but he did not feel the same way at that time. He got married 5 mths ago and last month he decided to tell me that he has always loved me but would not have been good enough. He has said I Love You several more times and references that he can't turn back time or restart it, he said I was ready at a time when he wasn't and so on. He also said he loves me with all his heart has to offer. I don't know what to make of this. Is he in love with me or just playing an unfair game? He is also well aware that I am married too.

Hi,
I have a bit of a dilemma here.I have a friend who has two boys just slightly older than my two boys, mine are 8 and 6 ! They never swear or use abusive language ( not when they're around me anyway) as I won't allow it ! However, my friends boys never stop ! It's f*** this, and f***** that... all the time ! She stands there and lets them do it , often laughs too, as she finds it amusing ( to my horror) !
My question is, how do I tell her that it bothers me, and it makes her and her boys look awful ( when they're really not that bad) without upsetting her too much. I have tried to tell her in a tactful way several times, but she becomes very defensive . Do I just tell her straight and pay the consquences, or just accept them for who they are ? Kids just shouldn't swear should they ?

...........I've known him for over a year and we get along well, we talk to each other almost everyday online or on the phone, but yesterday he declared his love for me, and then said that it was all a joke, dont know whether to believe him or not -

Would guys make sick jokes like that because when he was telling me, it seemed really believable......??

I wouldnt expect him to make sick jokes like that, but then again, i didnt expect him to tell me he loves me either; i dont know what to think - do you think it would be possible to carry on as friends like normal?

My friend is 17 and she has a brother and a sister, and she really hates her family to the maximum extreme. She talks about wanting to commit suicide and stuff like that, but i don't know if she really means it. When i go over to her house, her parents fight about once a day, but over all, i love her family. I've known her for 7 years and i know that she's lucky. She has a family that really cares for her. Should i talk to her, or possibly call someone because of her suicidal ideas?

I have recently learned that an ex-boyfirend has just gotten engaged. He has been with the fiance for 4+ years. However, a couple of years back his childhood best friend stated that the fiance had hit on him and when he rejected her, she made up a story about him being a thief and the friends never spoke again. My ex has no idea that this happened as there was never a good time to say it to his friend. I have learned of the engagement and feel that he should have this information as I would want to know. How do I go about telling him? I have not dated him in almost ten years and do not see him often.I know that it will hurt him especially coming from me, but I feel almost obligated before he ruins his life. I just want to get it off my chest as I feel he is entitled to the info. Please Help!!
