I have never experienced a friend saying I Love You so this makes me a little uncertain. I have a man that I have been friends with since high school. Over the years I had fallen in love with him and made him aware of my feelings but he did not feel the same way at that time. He got married 5 mths ago and last month he decided to tell me that he has always loved me but would not have been good enough. He has said I Love You several more times and references that he can't turn back time or restart it, he said I was ready at a time when he wasn't and so on. He also said he loves me with all his heart has to offer. I don't know what to make of this. Is he in love with me or just playing an unfair game? He is also well aware that I am married too.

Dear Shell,
You are no kid, that gentle man should also know it. This is just because he had tasted the blood after his marriage and wants change. It all happens to all human being. No body is so fool to know his trick.
How ever it all depends on you, how you play his ball. Tell him to take divorce from his wife and get ready to marry you. I am dam sure that this fellow will vanish from the screen.
Now if you allow him to come closer he too will not Miss the chance of enjoying your youth. This may give you some enjoyment/fun for time being but you will risk your married life and finally there will be no space left other than brothel for you. Don't fall to his trap, however you can play and make him dance to your tune for some time. Have fun...
Bye Bye

Sounds like he wanted to let you know that he has always loved you too, but the two of you were just not on the same page at the right time. Sometimes people have to get stuff off of their "chest" in order to move on. Maybe that is why he told you that. He thought you should know.

yes, he is keeping a 'door open' so to speak. In case something doesn't work out with you and yours or him and his. Its unappropriate, and you should tell him that it makes you feel uncomfortable, you love your husband and there will never be anything more than friendship with you and him and he needs to respect that. I get the feeling his marriage isn't what he thought it was and you are close to him, and he remembers you revealing your feelings to him, he is playing a dangerous game, do not be part of it

Stay way from him break clean this can go no where and 4 lives plus if children are involved then more damage can happen.

Give a benefit of doubt but break clean, no need to judge any one or look back or guess even.
