My thought is this. People define friendship and also staying in contact differently. I have friends I MUST speak to daily or I feel at a loss. Then there are others, we can go literally years without contact and we are still friends. I don't think he means to insult you, I just think his views are different than yours on a friendship.

Everyday seems a little needy don't you think. The first week was all good getting caught up and all, but after you get caught up, do you really need to talk everyday? That would seem smothering to me as a friendship that is high-maintenance. If I were the guy, I would have run from you thinking you were some stalker or something. If I were you I would re-evaluate what friendship is and that it takes two people to form a friendship and both parties of that friendship have responsibilities to the other person. Yours is not to smother him and his is to call at least once a week (not everyday) Too needy by a long shot.

I don't think he meant it when he said he wanted to stay in touch because if he did then he would of called you again. You should just end it and tell him you can't have a friendship like that. It takes two to have a friendship just like a relationship and he's not keeping up with his share.

He doesn't value the friendship as much as you do. Leave it alone and find a better friend.

Sounds like you want a boyfriend more than a friend, I have lots of friends and we do not talk daily or even weekly, you need to consider what you really want out of this relationship.
