Friends - February 2007

I'm going to visit a sick friend today, he's been lying in bed with glandular fever - a swollen and sore throat, fatigue, very high fever - for the last week and he feels awful. He's used to a very active lifestyle so all the time stuck at home is killing him.

I thought I'd take over some things to cheer him up or keep him entertained, since I have work this week and can't spend too long keeping him company. I'm bringing him some videogames to pass the time, and some lozenges for his horribly sore throat, but I'd like to do something more.

What else can I bring him to cheer him up, or make him feel better? I can't really bring him food, since thanks to his swollen throat he can't eat much.

My friends 9 yr son recently told me that his mother had thrown him round the kitchen for a slight misdemeanor (he had pulled some old christmas crackers). He was very upset at the time and asked me not to tell his mum I knew. I asked her why he had seemed upset when I saw him and she was very evasive, saying it was because he was constipated. I have seen her behaviour toward her son and she can be quite nasty to him.

anyway, I since spoken to the son and he says it happens regularly and he has told his dad and teachers at school. I am really worried as she also has 2 other very young son, both under 2 yrs. She is also very paranoid and believes someone is breaking into her house and moving/stealing things.

My son goes to the same school as her son, and I know that the headteacher is concerned about her behaviour, so should I tell the head what the son has said??

ok i didn't know what to put this under, anyways... me and my boyfriend are tring to move out and get an apartment going in on one with one of our friends Mel, she wants to take her dog and we can't find a place that will take over 30 pound dogs, anyways she wants to have one of her friends to live with us, and i can't stand to be around this girl for more than a day let alone live with her.... what do i do? how do i tell them no?

I have a firend named mike we started out likeing him cause he was nice, But now hes getting annoying hes doing so many things worng like
1)lying about his sexuality and saying he has boyfriends over when he really doesnt!!
2) hes touching us way to much i like hugs but not an overload of them every second
3) hes acting totally imature when hes older than us he has no right to act that way!!
so tomrrow me and my friends are going to get rid of him we just don't know how to do so that we don't totally crush him!!

One of my friends has lost their mom over the weekend. From an autopsy it seems like that she has died from overdose. I don't know how to properly cheer her up, because she isn't really outgoing and doesn't like attention drawn to herself. What things can I say/give to her to show that I care?

im a guy, 15 , and my best friend is a girl. i have been in love with her forevr. we really started being great friends 1.5 yrs ago. i have told her i love her as more then a friend and she says she loves me as only a friend. in da beginning of the school yr things were great and we talked evr nite. we watched tv while talkin on da phone and walked together between class. then when swimming season(she a swimmer)started she talked to me less and got a boyfriend on the team. i still loved her. i asked her y she didnt talk to me much and she said it was cuz of swimming. a week ago she was dumped, and called me crying. we talked and i was there for her. we talked a little more. i have gone to all her home swim meets to support her n show her i love her. yet she nvr really says thx for coming. lately she walks with the swim guys and doesnt really notice im there. i love her with all my heart n think of her all the time. i have thought of suicide bcuz im so depressed over her. what do i do!!

some of my friends know that i cut and they talk to me about it....but not like "you need to get help" talk...but more about why i do it and with what.....
well, this one other girl [ she`s also a cutter] says its giving a bad name to cutters if i talk about it.....is it really such i bad thing? I mean it`s not like i`m going around the school screaming "HEY I CUT MYSElF !"

I moved to my new sixth form in september. I didn't really know anyone but I made lots of friends suprisingly quickly - suprisingly because I'm a pretty shy person. I still see a lot of my old friends but also my new friends, who because of my timetable etc spend most of my time with, at lunch etc. I can tell my old friends are annoyed with me and think I've 'changed'. Although they haven't said anything outright, but I know my friends, and I know what they're thinking. I don't know if i should say something or wait for them to confront me. When we're together everythings fine, but I get the feeling they're alking about me and discussing me when I'm not there. Really confused here. Am I just being paranoid? What should I do???

Ok my best friends name is courtney and her best friend is macy,. We are all close friends and hang out like every weekend. I have this friend, Melissa, and she is being a total jerk. It all started last year when she got in a meaningful relationship with the guy she knew i liked. He gave her, her first kiss and her first twenty make-outs. Talk about me being broken-hearted, especially seeing as she would tell me in detail all about how he "tastes." Now she is really clingy to my best friend Ashley, but Ashley hates her guts. Every time Ashley does something, no matter what it was, I get yelled at by Melissa. It isn't fair and Mel knows it. Now this guy Mel likes, Tom, is also the guy my other friend, Amber, likes but Amber liked Tom first. Do you see a pattern? I talked to Tom on Aim and found out that he thinks Melissa isn't the best looking girl. Of course I told Amber this to boost her confidence, and now Melissa knows and hates my guts.

My girlfriend has been seeing (sleeping with) a guy for over 2 years. He tells her everything she wants to hear. He has never been her boyfriend, but has been someone elses when he was with her. He told her if the other girl was gone it would be only her. He broke it off and then decide to be single. He was seeing my friend and at least 2 other girls, along with the ex. I never liked him, I knew what kind of guy he was, but I thought she would see it herself. She finally did, after going back and forth and believing his lies for over 2 years. I was so happy it was finally going to end. She knew the truth and I was right all along. She said she was done for the 100th time. I found out a few days ago she was with him, even though he is back with the ex. She says she can't be without him and I am so tired of listening to her whine about this guy it makes me sick. She has always had a lot of drama in her life and I'm starting to think she enjoys it.

If you've not spoken to your close female friend for 2 months and when ur mate mentions YOUR NAME and suggests everyone meets up and her REACTION is:

She just goes quiet, he asks her again,mentioning my name and all she says is NO-her mood changed completly after my name was mentioned.She doesn't say anything else until the topic changed.

MEANING?What is she possibly feeling?
