First off this is about living arrangements & if u r not comfortable with any of them then something needs to be done before any leases are signed & may end up getting broken. You need 2 tell Mel that its hard enough trying to find a place for her dog let alone another friend. you need 2 B honest with Mel & tell her how u feel about her friend. Let her know that its fine if she comes to visit but that u r very uncomfortable with actually living with her. If she can't accept this then maybe U & your guy need to do it alone. Even if just the three of u living together I can bet there will be drama because it's to hard living as a couple with a friend you know what I mean
Good Luck

Be firm. Don't let the girl you don't like move in if you don't want to. Be careful having your friend moving in with your boyfriend and you. My boyfriend lived with another couple and for some reason it was them against him. The situation didn't end well. Also, most apartments only take dogs 20 pounds or under. The dog might be a problem, too. It is going to be your living space. Say four people in one apartment is just too many (which it is!). I don't even think a two bedroom apartment (I'm guessing that's what you would get?) would take four people. Whatever you decide, as I said BE FIRM. It's going to be your home and you have a right to decide who lives there and who doesn't.

You should tell your friend the truth and tell her that you just don't think living with this girl is going to work out, maybe you can get seperate rooms, if it is possible.

Also, you should know that it is against the law of God to have a man and woman live together who are not wed. Just want to say that to you.
