Friends - February 2007

i have a friend for almost 6 years now and i feel so dependent on her. she is much older than me. and the thing is i dont really have other friends rather than her who knws me well enough. but lately, as in the past two days i feel that she is ignoring me and i feel so down. so please help me to stop being independent on her and to try to do things my way and my style. please i need to start standing on my own two feet...but how do i go about. i feel really low cause of the way she is treating me lately...we swore to be close always...why the distance now..please advice

I have a friend who keeps copying me. I think its coz I'm friends with one of the boys she fancies i suppose she thinks he'll like her more if she acts like me. The problem is this boy cant stand her! I'm wondering whether i should let her carry on embarrassing herself in front of him and keep copying me or tell her what i think. She's one of my best friends i just cant stand having a clone of myself following me around.

well i know her for 2 years as we study in the same class.....1 month ago we had a party and i kissed her (french kiss) and at that party she wanted us to be togetheri could not refuse her as i was drank...now i know that i made a mistake...and i really don't feel any love for her.....and a don't want to make her to suffer.....what is your opinion?

Me and My friend went to a party and she wore these pants my sister bought me, and I NEVER wore it yet. She would tell me how her best friend in another state still has her pants from last year but I don't like Sharing my clothes, I dont like other people's stuff at my house cause I borrowed her stuff as well. (Even though I ain't want to). It's been a month and I want my pants back. My sister bought it through love and i wish I told her no she can't wear it. How do I tell her I want my stuff back without being mean??

I have a friend who has split with a "boyfriend" of 18 months.
During this time she helped him out with cash from time to time which he claims he didn't want or ask for (but non the less, took)
Now they have parted she has two valuble items of his ,which she wont give him back and wants to sell to raise fund to recoup her money.
Can she legally do this and is it morally wrong (one of the items is of major sentimental value)

I like them both and don't want to take sides, but I'd like to know what other people think.

I'm 17 years old and im in the 11th grade in high school. I heard a group of girls talk about me in the bathroom. Saying "oh noone likes her, shes an obnoxious, arrogant, conceited and so stuck up no wonder she has no friends" like anyone else would, I'd deny it. In math class, every time my teacher asks a question, noone knew the answer except me, i call out the correct answer and everyone looked so annoyed. and every time someone needs help, and asks a question, I'm always the one calling out before the teacher. Everytime i bought some real cool stuff, i often show it off, just so everyoone can pay attention to me. I often sneak a section of the school newspaper even though im not allowed to read it unless its distribute, just so everyone can see that i work for the school paper. When my class says im the smartest one in class im often so proud of myself, and people always ask me for the correct answer to each test, and i gladly told them.

I want to change. i need advice!

do they talk about you all of the time, are they competitive, are they mean to you, do they backstab you, do they copy off of you, do they try to steal whatever good things you have, do they pick on you, or all of the above? or are most people passive toward the person(s) they are jealous of-meaning do they treat them like they treat everyone else and hide the way that they really feel? how do people usually act when they are jealous? how can you tell?

My best friend and I (opposite sex) have kissed each other on the lips. While I am happily engaged, I'm not sure if this is okay. There is no sexual attraction between the two of us whatsoever and neither of us see the potential of a sexual/dating relationship. We just wanted a way to express our love towards each other (which is more like family than a boyfriend/girlfriend). Is it considered cheating since it was only intended as a friendship kiss and there is no intention of going beyond that? Also, do you have any experience with this type of situation? Would you mind sharing?

Well, I’ve got a best friend 10 years ago and until now we are friends but now things changed our friendship wasn’t much like before it changed.
I will firstly tell you what our friendship like 10 years was ago:-

- when people see us together they think that we are twins because she was about my height and my weight and that what made me feel that she is my sister, so we started sharing our daily problems and secrets and what is going on in her house. I use also to tell her the same… whatever happens to me.

- she used to stay with me every now and then.

- in our town, there is two kinds of school one are public school (which are free to study)and private schools (which has fees to pay). We were in private schools and she decided to go to public but I put the idea in her mind that leaving private school will be hard for you and I kept telling her that until she agreed to stay and go ahead studying in private.

- when her parents got divorced I heeled her pain and I kept supporting her until she got more wiser and understood it and face it.

- when we get our reports, its hard to see your grades low as you spend a lot of effort in studing. So once they gave us the reports, so she started crying because she failed in Science… no one cared about her but I did. I usually was better than her and I study more than her.

- After a long day of school… we come back from school and call each other and talk talk talk…. We use to be very good friends and talkative.

Ahhhhh… now its different totally different.. everytime I see her in school my heart get hurted from her doings and I just quit.

Now its different and the way she thinks about me is different. She thinks I’m her babysitter or servant or her doctor or what so ever… but the main thing is that our relation changed from a friends to a master and a servant!!
Its hurts me how she does treat me after a long time of love and care to each other, she is attracted to other friends. She keeps ignoring me and when she needs help from me which her friends can answer she asks me and go have fun with her new friends.

Now can you explain to me what is friendship? Is what all I did these years result is leaving me alone? did I did something wrong which made her leave like this? Did I do something which makes her ignore me? Am I her friend or just someone who is asked such questions and left out? Don’t I have the right to be her best friend?why don’t she thank for all these years by giving me attention.??

to be more specific. me and my friends are planning the limousine arrangements for prom.. these two girl who are our 'friends' want to rent a normal SUV while we already planned on renting a navigator limousine. they want to split the cost of both so they can switch back and forth. in your opinion, is that fair? or are me and the rest of my friends just crazy. also, the two rentals would be from different companies. i dont even know if theyd allow that.

My best friend for 4 years has an issue with B.O. Everyone else can smell it and people make fun of her for it behind her back and sometimes to her face. I have lived with her once before for a while and she still smelled when she got out of the shower. Is something wrong with her because I know she is "clean" Please don't tell me that I have to be a good friend and tell her because I have tried. She can't smell herself so she thinks that she fixed it. I don't know what else to do and I am scared of losing a friend but its getting bad. I have class with her all the time and its hot in there and I really start to smell it. HELP ME be nice and tell her.
