I asked for Japanese/English language exchange in an online ad, and she responded. But being that she is a PhD student and she is actually enrolled in a college environment where there are thousands of people, i find it hard to understand why she answered me. Let's take the japanese: I'm studying it but there's a bunch of current students at university studying it too, ,so why would she want to meet a person who is not a student anymore, and who lives away from campus?. Let's look at the english side: If she's in an american university as a PhD student, wouldn't she already be good at english.? Moreover, i told her i'm not your typical outgoing/talkative american guy, i'm a quiet and hispanic person so why would she want me over the 100's of talkakative and smooth/confident males at university.

Anyways, can this relationship work? I always feel Japanese people in the usa want to meet outgoing confident Americans.

When my husband & I got together he had 2 girls I had 1. We also have added 1. My mother in law has always told me how she will always favor the older one of his girls. His dad does the same to his younger one. MIL told me she hated me & wanted to kill me. She also said she hated my daughter. I called the police & it was dropped in court because I had no proof. She also told hubby this after the court date. She admitted herself in the Psych ward for a week. We didn't speak for almost a year. It has now been about 6mo since we started talking again. She said all this because she raised his kids. Their mother is a piece of crap. Then when we moved in together "I took them away" & so forth. My husband never stood up for himself or his children. Then I came along & he decided he wanted to be more involved with the kids. He started standing up to them for his kids & for me. Now things are going slowly back the way they were. Hell for me. Any advice?

Yesterday I lost my sister and her husband in a tragic automobile accident. Besides the casket piece, does anyone have any ideas on a flower arrange for two? Like two hearts together or something?

I took my dog to the vet (a new one) which is about 2 hours away to have him bred w/another dog. Anyway, it is kinda in the middle of nowhere. The guy said to me on my second trip...yeah some day you are gonna move up here aren't you? smiling all big as he said it. And he was so curious about me, where do you live, where did you grow up. Do you think he was just nosy and being polite or was he kinda flirting?

So to cut the long story short, committed to a serious relationship and after that have been alone since 2 years went the wrong way once that too with a married co-worker.
Now how do I get over it...i love my steady boyfriend more than anything else but circumstances are such that I can't join him and he can't do that either..had resisted this for so long now..and now I feel miserable.

My b/f brings my daughter home from daycare. When they walk in the door, I speak to my b/f. When I see my daughter's face, I pick her up, swing her around, kiss her, hug her and tell her how much I missed her. My b/f says he feels less important when I do this becaues he's just standing there the whole time and I do is say "hello" to him. He says I don't seem happy when I see him and that I don't ask how he's doing or how was his day. Technically, he is less important compared to my daughter. But I dont obviously want to make him feel that way. Am I being inconsiderate of his feelings or don't I have a right to be happier to see my daughter than I am to see him? Or should I try to display the same exitement for them both although honestly I don't feel the same excitement?

I know it does not apply to every single woman on the planet nor do I have anything against the female sex whatsoever but, female vanity is becoming more and more apparent in today's society... I know that this female behaviour annoys many guys I have spoken to as it really puts them off from going up to girls and flirting with them in the first place! It sort of knocks your confidence before you've even made an attempt!
I appreciate that some of those girls will have boyfriends etc., but that's not all of them. What's more, it is the way pretty girls act; like they seem to enjoy being posers and if a decently looking guy goes up to one of them, in a nice way - trying to flirt with them, they just give you a snooty look as if they are God's gift on earth!
Bottom line is, I think it's OK playing hard to get, but having your head so far up your a$* is just completely unecessary.
Gilrs (and not all), just relax a little would you!

My wedding dress is in (1 week after I ordered it, and they told me it would take 15!) and I need to go pick it up. I wasn't expecting it so soon, so I'm not really ready to go get it. They said I have a week to pick it up-I'd like to just get it altered while it's already there. My question....
I'm having a beach wedding and we aren't wearing shoes. So, my dress is going to be taken up quite a bit. I'm not sure what to wear to the reception that we have back home though. It will obviously have to be something flat so the dress isn't too short (sad because I LOVE heels!)....but I'd really like to have whatever I'm going to wear before I go get fitted. Any ideas (websites?) for cute flat shoes? (no flip flops!) I really only wear heels, so I have no idea what would look good.
