The Circle Spreads

The Circle Spreads: There is no doubt, family and domestic violence
impacts, directly or indirectly, the life of every man, woman and
child living in this state. Much like a stone thrown carelessly into
a quiet pool of water, violence in the home perpetuates ever
widening circles of anger an aggression that disturb and destroy the
pattern of our society. (The goal of Missouri Shores is to end
violence in our community).

I moved a couple months back and have been concentrating solely on work and college. Side-affect being I am very alone. It's a sad adjustment since I'm used to being around people all the time. I go to a commuter school where people go to class and leave. But hey, I have really good grades and a lot of money saved from lack of fun. Big sigh.

What do you think about an emo guy who dated/lived w/ a girl (let's call her Heidi) for two years, then confessed his love for his best friend (let's call her Holly) who had just gotten back from her honeymoon - who he knew had had a big thing for him for years, but never did anything about it (they almost dated once, but he didn't want to "ruin the friendship"), so Holly married someone else - ...THEN, broke up with Heidi so that he could have an 8 month affair with Holly, who he eventually proposed to right before they were found out (had a ring and everything). THEN three months after Holly left this guy because she was forced to choose between him and her family who had turned their backs on her (she tried to kill herself and everything) picked up on an old acquaintance at a concert (let's call her Debra) and instantly fell in love w/ her, not telling her of his history w/ Holly and made out w/ her right in front of Holly the first time she saw them again at a friend's wedding?

What is it like for a child to grow up in a violent home?
Chaos: The children may never know what to expect at home. Their
parents' mood can change instantly from loving to enraged.
Fear and tension: The daily anger and violence create a living
nightmare for the children. They may grow up being afraid of
everything and trusting no one.
Danger: Often, the children are the intended victim of one or both
parents. Other times, they get caught in the middle and are hurt or
killed by accident.Confusion: The children often receive mixed messages. For example:
at school they learn hitting is wrong, at home they learn that
hitting is used to "solve" problems.
solation: Often, an abusive parent shuts off the family from the
outside world. And the children may withdraw from their peers and
other adults too.
Hopelessness: The children often blame themselves for the violence
but they feel powerless to prevent, stop or escape from

If a person has been ultra nice to you and likes to do nice things for you, but they are under the pretense they are trying to get into a relationship, how can nicely tell them you aren't interested in them that why, but you want them to continue to be your friend.....

Was going with a girl for a month then, getting on fine, then a few days ago didn't meet her as promised after the pub. I did eventually turn up and she was wasted and left me alone while going off with a mate and two guys. Now she's back in touch, saying it was the drugs which made her act like that and all regretful. Thing is, if I had turned up it wouldn't have happened, although it was undoubtedly a **** thing to do. I like her, what do I do?

I just made a new a female friend that I'm setting up to be a friend with benifts, I tell her all the time that I don't want a relationship and she tells me also she isn't looking to get into anything either. I thought we were clear on that, we BOTH agree that the sex is gonna be really great but she wants to take a little more time to get to know me better b4 we get down to buisness. I'm worried that she is starting to get the idea that there is room for more than just a physical relationship. She's told her mom about me, and is talking about next summer. What do I do to assure I don't end up hurting her feellings or causing her to get fatal attraction on me? Like I said, I remind her all the time that "it so great that we can be friends with no expectations" or something like "oh yea, well the fact that you just got out of a long relationship is refreshing to me, cause I know we don't have to worry about all that relationship stuff".. somehow I don't think it's working..PLEASE ADVISE
