I think that if he is living there he should pay half of everything. If you are talking about if you kick him out for him to pay half, check with a lawyer when you file for divorce. When I went through my divorce,10 years married, (did it ourselves through courthouse) the packet had an area on it if you could not afford the fees for filing. As far as the bills some states do have what they call "maintenance" I don't know what this is all about but a friend of mine got it when she was getting divorced, but she was pregnant.
My advice is get him out and divorce him, you can find someone else better.

OMG! Kick him out! Too bad if he can't afford it! He has made a choice, a bad one, but he doesn't deserve to live with you anymore! He's willing to abandon his family!?!?! "The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence". On the Internet, people can make themselves out to be someone they're not. He thinks he'll be happier with someone he doesn't really know? He is very wrong, there will be the same sort of problems in this new relationship. I have so much to say about this, I could write an essay! In brief, respect yourself. Do not let him live with you anymore, he will see what he has lost!
P.S. If he realizes that his decision is a bad one, and you decide to forgive him, got to www.marriagebuilders.com to help you both work on your relationship. Good luck!

If he left you for someone else and you allow him to stay because of finances then yes ask him for half the rent and bills, treat him as a roommate. Letting him stay there for free only lets him take advantage of you. Stand your ground on this one. When he chose another woman he chose to severe the ties that you had, do not let him stay for free because you once loved him, If he cant pay then he should move .

You sit him down and tell him, at least you was honest about wanting to be with someone else. I will get over that, but If you want to stay here you have to pull your weight, by paying your share of the rent and bills. Now is the time for you to think of yourself, and your happiness, want only the best for yourself. Stay strong, and be happy!!

You should kick him out, right now. So what if he can't move. He doesn't want you or the children so he's not your responsibility anymore. Buy him a plane/bus/train ticket to Georgia and put his bags on the front porch.

I do apologize if I seem unfeeling or strident. However, he has made a choice. It's time for him to live with it.

Good Luck to you!!!

First of all, I'm surprised you didn't kill that worthless sack of s***, and the nerve of him to be living there after breaking your heart. Kick his a** out and who cares he is homeless. Then put on a nice dress and go out to find someone who will never take you for granted. Cause we all know your dead sexy. Go find a man that electrifies your world and never look back at the scum you leave behind. Best of luck.

Well if he can afford to pay then...yeah make him pay half of everything....but if he can't afford a dime then you could either let him stay and play Lil Ms. Nice girl then go ahead but if he knows or has a friend he could crash at but feels more comfortablle at home....tell him to leave. Let him suffer just like he made you! All in all when he gets his feet wet...who is he going to sleep at night with.....i'll let you answer that....

Not only do you have the right to ask him to pay half of everything, you have the right to kick him out. Don't let him take advantage of you.
