Do you think I will have the potential to be the type of parent that hates her children? I know parents are supposed to love their children no matter what.
I've been told that I work well with children by professors. However, I'm afraid I will end up being the type of person that just hates her child. I have a younger sister (8), who grew up with very permissive parents. I have no control. I'm not allowed to discipline them, so when they kick me, lock me out of the house, tell me I'm stupid, steal my stuff etc., I just sit there and say, "Oh, please don't do that." My younger brother (6) is wonderful alone, but with his sister's influence, he's a real terror, too. I don't want to say I hate her, but it is very difficult to express any love when this child is telling me what to do and "wins." I hate it.
I'm worried that when I become a mom, I will have this hatred towards my child. I'm very scared. It's safe to say that sometimes I strongly, strongly dislike my sister.
