I'm 31 and I feel am facing my mid life crisis even though I really don't know what that is or if it even exist. I've had deaths and breakups and an unhappy marriage and ever time I go to fix one of them, something else has to happen. I'm running into dead ends and no way out. I'm sick of failing myself and I have no one to talk to about any of it and I'm not paying someone to talk about it. I just need to find a way to fix it and needed some advice. The onlly happiness is my life at the moment is that I have the best 2 sons in the world but I want happiness for myself as well. I'm really confused so someone please offer some good suggestions. Thanks.

I am a 30 year old, Professional Black Woman. Three weeks ago, my mother's 58 year old female friend needed help with a work assignment from her job, and it was causing her stress. So, I helped her for 4 days, free of charge. During the whole time while I helped her, I called her by her first name, "Anne"....After the 4 days was over, I called to ask her a question and I said "Hi Anne!", and she got Angry and said "FIRST OF ALL, MY NAME IS MRS JACKSON, I HAVE CHILDREN YOUR AGE, I'm MRS JACKSON TO YOU!"...I was shocked. I calmly told her that I apologize, but since I am 30 years old, I didn't think it was offensive. She said, "Well, thats just MY preference"....I decided that I no longer want to deal with her, and I told my mother that I'm no longer available to help her... But my Question is:
Do Black Women Over the age of 50 think its Disrespectful for Black Women my age to call them by the First Name??

So I've been talking to this guy I'm interested in for about 1 month. I'm 20, he's 24. I've been making a mojority of the phone calls and attempting to make plans that he agrees to but calls a few hours ahead to cancel due to bad weather, working late, etc (which is a a workaholic). But just the other day he had brought to my attention that I call "too much" and that it was a turn off. So I had asked him was I taking the situation for more than what it was (him liking me) and he said no. The conversation ended with me saying I don't know what you want to do with the situation so I'm going to leave it in your hands. He then said you know what? I'll call you when I have some free time. So I haven't spoken to him in a week so I had called and left a voicemail to apologize because I did just recently realize I did call a lot. So now I'm wondering do I wait another week and try calling again to try to explain myself or do I just wait and hope he does call? Thanks in advance.

I'm a tomboy ok? So my best guy friend, NOT boyfriend gave me a teddy bear with some chocolates on Valentines Day. To this day I still wonder if this is a sign of love, to be more than friends or he was being sweet. All we do when we hang out is the usual like play video games, hang out and talk, etc. So the question is, is this a sign of love?

I have a friend that buys me lots of stuff, and gives gifts a lot. Surprises. She likes to buy me lunch all the time to. If I try to pay for something she takes it as an insult. She will not let me pay for anything at all when we are together. She is really super nice, and we talk about lots of personal things together. I almost feel like she has feelings for me witch is fine, but I don't want to make the assumption. She may just be Super Duper nice. What do you guys think of this? How can I repay her for all her kindness?

I chat to this guy online, was introduced through a friend of mine, we have only seen pics of each other...talks to me everyday online (7 months now) and then one day i / he didnt open a conversation with me/ him (i didnt mind about this)...

and then suddenly he opened a convo saying "sorry, i didnt see you online so i didnt say hi, but how come YOU saw me online but you ignored me?"

i didnt think it was an issue

eventually i asked him "since when has it been compulsory to open a conversation with you ALL the time?" because thats what it felt like

and he replied "i only said that because you get into a hissy fit if i dont open one"...

so should i have gotten offended? because i wouldnt have minded at all if he didnt talk to me...i felt degraded after he said that!

It was HIM who was angry that I ignored him, not me....and then i got angry because he let off that it was ME who gets angry if i am ignored!

So last night I had this conversation with my guy. I wanted to know where we were at in our relationship so I talked to him about gf/bf titles i guess you could call them. He was asking well what is bf/gf, what's the difference then what we have now to putting a title on it. So he started to ask me questions like well what is commitment? what is bf/gf? Then he said that it wasn't so much his past (because he hasn't dated much) but things that he has seen happen to his friends that get into the "bf/gf relationship". It seemed that he is scared that once he makes the step of the "relationship" that he won't be able to do what he normal has done with being single. He comes over all the time rather it be I ask or he does. I am an understanding person and I also need my girl time and understand a guy needs his but yet as long as we have OUR time I'm fine with it. So is he trying to get out of the relationship thing or is he just concerned that he won't be able to live own life?

When you have sex for the first time what does it feel like. How bad does it hurt? Is it a bearable pain or a death defiying pain.

My boyfriend is German and 'funny' about certain things.... especially about telling people that I have kids from a previous relationship... my girls are 8 and 10 years old... they are very sweet, and often wonder why they can't go with me and him places... I know he is afraid to tell his parents that he is serious with a girl who has kids, is divorced, etc... now he has ME scared to tell them too.... (just met them last night, and they are VERY friendly... !!) But I know German's are more uptight then Americans, esp about the 'proper' or 'right' way to do things.... so I am just wondering... obviously at some point the truth must be told... that I am divorced, with kids, etc.... I do want to be married (to him!) and have more children.... he is 34, and I am also.... we have been together over a year now... so my question is, is it NORMAL to not tell the parents that the person has kids? And at what point DO you tell... and isn't it more uncomfortable to 'come clean' later?

tell me your opinions on the perfect timing (give me numbers) for a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship to "take it to the next level" which means sex play without any intercourse or oral sex. For those dating when did you decided to "take it to the next level" with your partner?. Thank you very much for your answers. I NEED AS MUCH OPINIONS AS POSSIBLE.

For real. He is & has been in jail for a long time. His family is falling apart. There is no way for anyone to help him. I want to write and say something encouraging. He will get out in a few (1-5 )years.
