I chat to this guy online, was introduced through a friend of mine, we have only seen pics of each other...talks to me everyday online (7 months now) and then one day i / he didnt open a conversation with me/ him (i didnt mind about this)...
and then suddenly he opened a convo saying "sorry, i didnt see you online so i didnt say hi, but how come YOU saw me online but you ignored me?"
i didnt think it was an issue
eventually i asked him "since when has it been compulsory to open a conversation with you ALL the time?" because thats what it felt like
and he replied "i only said that because you get into a hissy fit if i dont open one"...
so should i have gotten offended? because i wouldnt have minded at all if he didnt talk to me...i felt degraded after he said that!
It was HIM who was angry that I ignored him, not me....and then i got angry because he let off that it was ME who gets angry if i am ignored!

Maybe I don't understand IM that much, but how come he knew that you'd seen him on-line, but he didn't know that you were on? Is he being overly pathetic? If he fancies you, then maybe this is just his way of testing you.
You also said "and he replied "i only said that because you get into a hissy fit if i dont open one" Do you? Why? If you do, then maybe he's getting fed up with that kind of behaviour.
Set some ground rules - like whether or not it's compulsory to chat every day, and who is to blame if you don't. Geez.

I wouldn't make an issue of it. Don't take it personally. Next time you see him on-line pretend nothing happened. There is a limit to how much you can say to one another over the net anyways. Maybe he had nothing better to say so he decided to yank your chain.

you are both being majorly overly dramatic! who cares? it doesnt matter? and he might have been joking anyway, but then you snapped back and then him...and the smallest most pathetic thing became an issue
you should both get over it

i think he was just having an off moment and just taking it out on you- totally wrong, of course, but when ppl get upset, we tend to take it out on ppl close to us. He will realise hes in the wrong and should apologise...u've done nothing wrong at all.

men are strange- they will ignore you for days, and then sulk if you don't ring them. They are little boys trapped in an adults body.
