I always thought that farmers' markets were places where you can buy local and organic stuff. However, when I checked out the one we have here in Galway, there was prepacked stuff from the continent as well, and it didn't have the organic label. So now I'm wondering about the other things sold there. Is it organic? Is it local? How can I find out?

I'm appalled that Matt Dillon has received more than 3,000 answers to his little question here on Yahoo Answers -- plus 305 stars. Does anyone actually think he's going to read the answers and pick a winner?

Plastic bags are made from petroleum - a nonrenewable source - and take years to degrade. Paper is made from fiber, mostly wood - a renewable resource - and are bio-degradable. My boss goes through our garbage cans at work to make sure we are recycling paper, cans, plastic and gets on our butts if we miss a tiny bit.
I support recycling and even used cloth diapers at least part of the time for my children. She does not! I guess it just bugs me that she is so pushy on the job but does not follow through at home due to convenience!

I am doing an egg drop project for school and I have most of my design built.
I just wanted to know some suggestions of materials that absorb energy well-besides bubble wrap.
No effence but I think everyone in my class is using bubblewrap and I only want to use it as a last resort.
I am brain freezing and I can't think of any.
Please help.

Politicians can spout off about global warming till their blue in the face but they never offer a good alternative to fossil fuels. Let's prove that the people of this country are smarter than they are. Give me a recommendation for an energy plan that is affordable, clean and plentiful. Is coal the way to go now that emmisions can be controlled? What about fuel-cells? Can we make solar power affordable? Give me your thoughts.

I have no recycling available in my area, and to drive that far would waste fuel.
These are two things I am doing that are easy.

Using clean and refillable water bottles, and buys by the gallon or more. No water bottles to trash.
Using shopping bags, I purchased two reusable bags for 99c each. Every time you use them you save 3c and no more plastic bags.

Give more ideas, please.

How many of us on here would participate in the World Naked Bike Ride protest that is taking place on June 9th? It has been running for the last 5 years now as a means of promoting sustainable green living, protesting against the burning of fossil fuels and address the societal hangups people have over simple, non-sexual nudity. This is a clothes-optional event, and their website is: http://www.worldnakedbikeride.org
