Recycling is about participation, not competition. Every little bit helps and don't feel bad or guilty if you can't recycle "everything We are better off to have majority of us doing a little recycling and grow from there.
You and your boss should be both proud of your enthusiasm on recycling.

If you went the cloth diapers route I stand and salute you as the greenest mommy on the block. I still remember the big yellow diaper pail my mom used when my little sister was a tyke. The older kids would run from the room when it had to be opened.
As for your question, pick your battles. Your boss sounds a bit like the boss from that show "The Office". Keep in mind that you don't need the boss to agree with you to live a long and happy life, thank Heavens.

I can understand how you are upset about her pushiness, when you know she is not doing everything she can. but on the other hand, doing something is better than doing nothing at all. i don't think anyone should really fight over who is "greener", but should appreciate the things each other are doing. no one is perfect in any way, and just be glad at what you are both doing to improve the beautiful earth we are living on. But hands down to you for taking the challenge of using cloth diapers. i know that is a hard task to do.

I was all for using cloth diapers, and my son did well with them. Then because of my very delicate hand problems, I broke out in a rash and had to stop. Lotions and creams didn't hep.I would be embarrassed when my friends made comments, like. "I knew you couldn't stick to cloth diapers" (They used disposable)
People thought I should use latex gloves, but they are also disposable and not without allergic problems.
So I tried, and then I joined the ranks of disposable diapers and felt guilty.

well im with you everyone needs to do their part to help the environment, but there are two other ways of looking at the whole diaper thing, first is it really that much better for the environment? considering the ammount of energy it takes to get the water hot enough to properly clean them, also look at the amount of chemicals that could potentially end up in the environment from bleach and detergent. the other point is that some children can not use cloth diapers their skin can not handel the meterial or the fact that they dont keep the wetness away from the skin well, i know that me and my ex tried them on my ex's son and he broke out so bad from them that we had to take him to the er and ended up switching to huggies,(and no he was not sitting in wet/dirty diapers any longer than any other child), after doing some research we found out that it is quit common for children to have problems with cloth diapers. just a couple other views of it for you to ponder.

Disposables use gallons and gallons of water in their productions, as well as power, non renewable resources etc. and of course they fill up the landfill sites with lots of lovely non biodegradable paper and plastic.
One poster said that using cloth diapers is gross - I don't get that! People who use cloth diapers flush poo down the toilet (where poo is supposed to go) rather than wrapping it up and throwing into their bins. Human waste isn't supposed to go in to landfil, but tonnes of it does because of disposable diapers.
As to your boss - I guess doing something is better than doing nothing.

I would find that really annoying if my boss was like that, I love using cloth nappies they are so fluffy. I have never had any issues with leaking or rashes and my daughter has really sensitive skin. I watched channel 4 human footprint and it made me feel sick about all the waste we produce. I think that if you can't use cloth nappies use biodegradable instead, I use them when I am on holiday.

Maybe she doesn't know any better.
Look online to see if there is a biodegradable diaper that is both convenient and good for the planet.
I found this one for you:
http://www.treehugger.com/files/2005/12/gdiapers_the_ne.php
Find one and mention it to her, she may be wanting something convenient and good for the world.

some people sometimes know how to say than really work on it.
just like some people always say they are buzy but actually they do nothing in the office except using MSN chatting, sufing net and doing personal things like 'cutting nails', 'observing the kids on their homework through internet / phone' ...etc
