I think that my garden statues move at night when I'm sleeping. I have a frog, a chicken, a gnome, and a birdbath. This morning I woke up to the sight of the gnome chocking the chicken. In the past, the frog has been swimming in the birdbath. And about 3 nights ago a new statue showed up- a little fairy. She was watching the gnome choke the chicken! What should I do?? I am afraid they will hurt me.

Specifically, I am wondering if a recirculating whole-house water pump, which keeps hot(ish) water circulating through the pipes makes sense. Currently, it takes literally one full minute (OK, 57 seconds in my test today) for hot water to reach the sink in our upstairs bathroom from the water heater tank in the basement. A recirculating pump would reduce that time to zero and save a lot of wasted water (not to mention getting my kiddos to wash those germies with warm water), but it would waste some energy heating the water in the pipes (which cannot be insulated as well as a tank) and moving it around. Do the water savings justify the increased energy use?

We have started a group (Happy Living with Justice). We use Yoga as an outreach tool to increase awareness and activism on issues of peace and justice.

Our goal is to live a lifestyle which is in harmony with the welfare of the entire world and its ecosystems as well as support the groups that are working for a just and sustainable world. Would you like to get involved?

Yes, they do have the hybrids, and are now trying to use the corn plant leaves to produce ethanol etc etc.

But those leaves do receive the energy directly from the Sun.

Can we do whatever is necessary to accumulate such energy without the need to defoliate so many hectares to grow the corn that will be needed to get enough ethanol?

As everyone has hyped hybrids and ethanol we still have the same problem. What happens when the worlds population triples in 20 years? Are we all going to be using Hydrogen or Gas still? The answer is in zero point energy and kinetic energy.

Lets get moving on pushing this tech forward.

Specifically, how do we know that the energy used to recycle things such as paper doesn't do more harm to the environment than growing new paper? I read that recycling wastes energy and causes far more pollution than it saves.

It takes money (sometimes) to switch over, and change things. Not everyone cares enough to want to do this, so I think the Gov should offer tax breaks for incentive.

What's all the fuss about recycling, guys?
Everybody does it faithfully. Some neighborhoods charge a penalty if they found recyclables in a trash can other than the recycle bin.
Is it true?
Why do they say it's just a hoax by the government, and that for most of the materials recycled, it costs more to recycle than making from scratch?
And Penn and Teller's B******t episode about recycling was rather convincing (don't go off-topic about the show, please!)
Should I feel bad for throwing recyclables in regular trash cans?

Thanks, y'all!

OK so you 're an eco freak and you want to get a solar panel, however, you suddenly faint at the price of just one, not even thinking about that hybrid car you wanted that will in short make you homeless. So I just want to know why the high prices . If the world is so set on having a eco world then why make it so hard to acheive.

Is that true? Like hemp necklaces and stuff?

Again, the hemp plant is different than the marijuana plant. It doesn't contain the THC that is mind-altering. Yet, it is illegal to grow in the US--while we are needlessly chopping down much needed trees. Hemp clothing, soap, beauty products, etc. can be sold here--but the hemp cannot be grown here. Until a short time ago, hemp foods were sold in stores--but that too became illegal.

It's cheap to grow, will grow anywhere, has no THC in it, and can be of use. Why do you think it is illegal to grow the non-mind altering hemp plant?

I ask this because I have heard mixed things about recycling. I have heard how it is worse to recycle because some of the recycled products take so much longer to biodegrade than the original product did in the first place. I know some of the reasons to recycle and some not to. I guess I have been not recycling out of ignorance really and I want to be convinced that the good really does out weigh the bad. Thanks!
