No even though money comes from trees it does not exactly grow on trees. Money doesn't grow on trees is an expression said to someone (usually a parent to their child) meaning that money is limited, you can't just pick it off a tree and you have to use money wisely. To sum up what the expression means I would say don't waste money.

but as some people have all ready said! YES The money is made of paper, and paper comes from trees!!!
But if you think about the cost of gas, inflation and all that other good stuff, I wish I could grow my own money...

Money while it feels like paper is actually made from cotton and other things so it is technically a fabric and not from trees. So no money really dosen't grom on trees.

In a matter of speaking it does. If the trees are shading your home in the summer, it can save you money on cooling bills. They can also block out wind/cold during the winter, reducing heating bills.

it depends if it is coins or not.
trees= paper= money(bills)=cheques etc. , etc.
then also trees are such a wanted resource that they can be cut down for money (hopefully not clear cut!)
