Since petroleum deposit will be finished in a couple of years, we will probably face severe energy crisis. What will happen after that? nuclear energy has its danger. What other source of energy seems to be promising (less polluting and less hazardous)? Another issue is that other metals deposited inside earth will also be finished someday. What will the civilisation look like then? How soon might these happen?

Household waste is collected as well as garden waste and recycling material such as tins, papers and glass etc. Can't we do the same with oils to recycle for re-use to power our cars?

After watching an inconvenient truth, I thought I had it all down pat. My Earth System's teacher, who is in my opinion, the smartest man I have ever met, is on Al Gore's side with this stuff, and has my mind situated on global warming being a bad thing, and that we'll notice really devastation effects in 40-60 years time.

Then there are people who post on here who would actually cut off their arm instead of listen to people actually root for stopping global warming, as if it's not even happening, based on one or two articles... I don't know what to believe, to be honest. I don't even watch all that much TV, so I'm not brainwashed by that. If anything, I hardly see anything about global warming on TV.

I don't believe that this has happened before with the earth. They measured the layers of antartica's sheets, and since when has antarctica come close to breaking into pieces?

So what's the real deal?

Is this actually something we should strive to change, or is it a sham?

Don't you agree that global warming is a real problem? Human beings are ignorant when it comes to making changes in our lives. Don't mean to be pesimistic but we all are going to die if we don't start taking Global Warning seriously. Everyone is concerned about how to buy a bigger house, what to wear to the party, how to meet someone special... all these are real problems for us right now but the fact that there is a possibility that our children will not have a chance to grow up and grow old is not a problem because it is 50 years away! It's just upsetting! Is there anyone who feels the same way I do???

more use of this sustainable energy source.

I just posted a Q re Wind Farms and one of the answers reminded me that we have other renewable and sustainable sources. No pollution, efficient energy exchange (mechanical turbine to electricity in one step, aesthetically friendly and can be suited to mass production or local requirements.

Of course we do have Hydro-electric plants, but surely there is a big opportunity to utilise the tides, estuaries and rivers in a similar manner.

I used to have a very big, probably 4 ft by 1 ft mirror that hung on my door. One day it broke, fell, leaving half of it intact, but half broken. I carefully picked up all the broken pieces, layred trash bags over the bag, and then placed a towel around it, and did it again until I was quite sure there would be no danger for any trash men. Now though, Im stuck with this still very large peice of glass, and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get rid of it.

Anyone know?

Do u use ecobuddy & ecofriendly notebooks ??

{ Ok please bear with me & read patiently }

Sometime ago i had asked whether people used ecobuddy notebooks {such as " Navneet "} or not.

Now with saving trees u can also help in educating the rural mass.
I mean the notebook " Classmate " is ecofriendly. Its a quality
product marketed by ITC.
There are still millions who only dream of school while we got
all the facilities, school , college, computer , internet. But for them its a dream !.
ITC is helping some of them realise this dream.
For every " Classmate " notebook u buy, ITC contributes Re. 1 to its rural development initiative that supports, among other projects, primary education in villages. U can be truly proud that your contribution is part of it.
Only Classmate uses India's first eco-friendly, elemental chlorine free paper from ITC.

do we just sell it to someone else to go off polluting the world? Who cares right, we made the switch and went with a high efficiency vehicle. Really, aren't we just making more waste when we trade in our not so earth friendly cars in for more earth friendly cars? Is there a way to "upgrade" our vehicles' engines so that they can also use electricity and be more fuel efficient? Wouldn't it be less wasteful to change out some old parts than a whole car? I'm a being irrational in my thinking?
